3000 Stories
I just realised that the HarmanWorld story has storyID of 3000! So that means I've written (approx) 3000 stories on this website. That's quite nuts, it's only going to be another year before I can say that I've been writing in Tim's Diary for 20 damn years! Mental!
So I forgot in my last update to talk about the flu vaccinations we had a family two weeks ago. It went fine, just fine. At least it went fine for Sarah, Theo and I. Theo cried a little bit when he got his injection, but was OK after a minute or two and a bit of "You're super brave little buddy" (Because he was).
Then it was Beth's turn.
Beth screamed. And I don't mean just a little bit of scream. BETH SCREAMED THE PLACE DOWN. Other parents got up from the waiting room and moved. A nurse walked past us and muttered to herself "We're not that bad here" and kept walking. Beth was screaming "NO MUMMY NO MUMMY NO MUMMY" - to a casual listener we were trying to rip her teeth out with no painkillers. Anyway, one mother and three nurses later and her injection was over and done with. It was AMAZING. I wanted to record the audio just to show people how amazingly intense it was, but that wasn't the right thing to do.
And on the way home I crashed my bike into another bike! We were both coming around a blind corner (on the footpath, but where you're supposed to go according to the signs) and BANG! We both managed to brake a bit before the impact, so it was minimal, but still. Got a bit of a fright. This is what happens when you try to race your family in the car home!!
Anyway.... Back to last week. A regular week pretty much. The toilet seat downstairs broke, bugger. Friday night Sarah and I went out with a bunch of people to a Quiz night. We came third in the quiz which was good. We were also the last table to actually get up and leave, because we were having so much fun. From there we walked over to The Union bar, where we stayed for ~4 hours. We got home about 1:30am, which wasn't too bad.
THANK FEK Beth and Theo were staying at Grandma and Grandad's for the night, it would have been a nightmare waking up at 7am. As it was 10am was a struggle! We really had a great night though, Karaoke, dancing, beer drinking, some shots got passed around etc. We staggered out for breakfast at 11am or so. Sunglasses on.
WHAT ELSE!
We took Biscuit for a lovely walk around the Park on Sunday, along with Beth on her bike and Theo on his scooter. Biscuit loves to run along beside them and keep an eye on what's going on, Beth's super confident on her bike and rides far ahead of us. She can start herself now when she's stopped, something she's only just learnt how to do. Theo still loves his scooter, attempting to get him onto his balance bike are met with "No thanks I'll ride my scooter".
And Sunday afternoon after a trip to Mitre10 where we bought a new toilet seat, was putting the seat on. Damn those things are a pain in the arse. But more of a pain in the arse if you don't have one...
Sunday night Sarah put curls in Beth's hair (and Theo's too, though short hair doesn't really work) and it turned out nice and curly Monday morning!
And this morning, Tuesday morning, Beth rode her bike to Ukeluke again! She did it last week too, which she was really proud of. This morning she was very wobbly, she was much more steady last week. Drove into a post, fell over in the bushes, nearly wobbled into a ditch. But even through a few crashes and the fact it was about 5c, she had a smile on her face the whole time! And then when we got to school Miss Williams told Beth she really should read me the story she wrote yesterday, which she did. I took some photos of it too because it's so amazing for a little 5yo girl! Well done Bethany!
