Feijoa Sales / Backyardigans / Work's Busy / Party-a-Rama
We're back to boom time both at work and at home. Feijoa sales are going mental, it was raining all day yesterday, an annoying windy drizzle, but that didn't slow the Feijoa sales at all! That said, it's slow going today, I haven't made any sales yet.
What's been happening? Well, work has gone right off the tree and is now going to be mega super busy for the next 4-5 months. So that's good, it's better to be super busy than to be sitting around wondering if we're going to get paid in the next fortnight or not. I went down to Wellington Wednesday/Thursday just gone for my annual review, that went as well as it usually does, no problems or any complaints from my managers. I asked for 5 weeks leave instead of 4 and I was granted that, not that it really means that much because they pretty much will grant any leave that you ask for, even if it means going into negative. Mostly they just want to make sure you do the work that you have been assigned, if you take leave or not doesn't really matter to them.
Beth's having a busy weekend this weekend, Lola's 5th birthday party yesterday (Saturday) and today is Gwen's 6th Birthday party. Sarah, Theo and I will go to the School Fete or something when she's at Gwen's.
What else? We're looking at plans to totally redo the back yard. Out with the old pool, the huge Feijoa tree. In with a new in-ground pool. The plan also calls for the huge Pine tree to go, but I don't like that idea and we'll go back to the landscapers with a request that get adjusted. It's only all in the planning stages, it won't kick off for ages, if/when at all. Have to go and speak to the bank etc, but it will hopefully put a good bottom line on the value of the property when it's done. I'll be a bit sad to see the huge Feijoa tree go, but it's worth ~$200 a season at best, and when it's finished dropping them the small/old/rotten ones all stink and fester for 3-4 weeks and that's not exactly fun. They're not at the festering stage yet though, so I'm collecting as many as I can and getting them out the front for sales.
Got myself a Tigermilk flagon on Friday night. Limited Edition. Very happy with that. Shame they didn't actually have any TigerMilk on tap.
Running is going well, though it's been a bit all over the show the last week with going to Wellington. And it's been raining yesterday/today so I haven't been. I better do that sometime, otherwise I'll get behind and then I'll cark it on race day. Which is only 6 weeks away. SIX WEEKS. Scary.
I'm sure lots more has been happening... I can't think what it is/was though. So I'm going to leave this entry published, it's not a great lot of details for 2 weeks of life, but hey. If I remember anything else I'll come back and add it...
