Biscuit Training

Submitted by TiM on

Took Biscuit for dog training last night.  He was pretty insane.  It's easy to forget at home just how much of a puppy he is, but watching him interact with all the other dogs at the end of the night its readily apparent that he's just so young and puppy like.  He didn't really know how to interact with the other dogs, all he wanted to do was play with them.  Which is fine, it was just funny.

He wasn't great at the training - but then neither were a lot of the other dogs, especially the puppies.  It was pretty chaotic.  But at least we've got some good foundations to work on for the next week.  I think half of Biscuit's problem was that we were told "Don't feed your dog before you come" but because we usually feed Biscuit @ 5pm or so, he was totally and utterly bonkers starving by the time we got there.  So the only thing on his mind was "How can I get food in me" so it was less about listening and understanding and more about being starving to death and survival.  I talked to the instructors about it and they agreed that yes, next week we should give him at least half his meal before we come so he's not just starving to death.

Sarah's just headed out the door to go to Florence and Machine tonight in Auckland.  And to visit her customer too while she's there.

Took my knee for a small jog yesterday, seemed to hold up OK.  Still tender, much like Sarah's knee.  Hopefully it keeps getting better, I went and bought myself a 1kg weight to strap onto my foot at work.  So I can do little leg exercises under my desk.  It's a strange world I live in.

Finally work has had a bunch of stuff come in, so we're going to be busy for the foreseeable future.  Of course given the staffing changes that have happened (one resigned, one made redundant) we are probably going to have too much work and not enough people, so I expect in a few months I'll be stressed as bonkers with too much to deliver and not enough time to deliver it.  Such is life.
