It was Ben and Di's Deck Warming Party on Saturday night! So Saturday morning I got up and got the kids fed and then took Theo to swimming at Jillyfish. Sarah and Beth came along too so we could head straight from there to Holly and Adrian's. The kids had been looking foward to "the sleepover at Auntie Holly's" all week, so they were very glad the day had arrived. And Sarah and I were nervous because the last two times Beth's tried to sleep over at Holly's the excitement got all too much for her and she had to be dropped home about 10:30pm!
Theo did a pretty good job at swimming, really wasn't all that into it until right at the end where he suddenly would happily duck his head under the water for a few seconds. So that was good, he is making some progress.
Once swimming was done and dusted we dropped the kids over at Holly's and told them to be good. Sarah made Beth recite the rules for being at Auntie Holly's "No fighting, no whinging, no crying" and there's one other I can't recall. But Beth does, so that's good. We dropped them off and then headed to the airport for our JetStar flight, which amazingly left on time and got us to Auckland when it said it would! We picked up our little Yarry Hirecar and drove to Ben and Di's, after having a little lunch stop at the Airport KFC (we are all class). We spent the afternoon at their house helping them get ready for the party, cleaning glasses etc, getting ice, buying beer and all those sorts of things! Then it was party time, the Theme was "M". I dressed up as a Monk, Sarah dressed up at Mia Wallace from Pulp Fiction. It was a great night, sadly I don't think we actually got any photos of either of us because we didn't really remember. Oops. I gave up and went to bed about 2am, Sarah I think stayed up to nearly 4am along with Ben and Di.
When we got up the next morning at 10am we were all the worse for wear, especially poor Ben! He basically gave up on the couch. Sarah, Di and I went down to Kohi Beach for some breakfast then we drove back out to the Airport, dropped our Yarry off and flew back home. We'd spoken to Holly that morning and she said that both Beth and Theo were champions and had a great sleep, no problems at all.
They were happyish to see us when we arrived, they'd had a great time with their Cousins and didn't really want to leave it seems. But we all came back home, tired as. We ordered Pizza for dinner because who can be arsed making dinner when you're hungover? Neither of us.
This week I'm working from home because Sarah's on Jury Duty! She got selected today and so she's on whatever the trial is. She's not allowed to talk about it and she hasn't.
And that was our weekend! This weekend I think we're just going to stay home and do nothing except things around the house because the last few weekends have been action packed.
