Cameras, Sailing and Santa.

Like the sheep?

Well it was a pretty good weekend. I went shopping again on Saturday and brought myself some things, and also some stuff as well to go with the things. I also brought myself a nice SLR camera too, so now I can take photos of, you'll never guess, things and stuff. I've already got my first film back, I took some pretty good photos (I think!) of the Hobie 16's at Takapuna yesterday.

I spent yesterday on the committee boat, helping with the starts and course setting and the usual exciting things that you get up to on a committee boat. I also managed to get myself terribly sunburnt too from being on the water for 5 hours. Still I had a pretty good time, the only complaint I have is sailing on a Sunday! Give me Saturday sailing anyday.

The new flat TV has given us all something to sit around and stare at when we're bored. The TV shows over here are even worse than Australia's (possible? Yup)

Their version of "Home and Away" has to be seen to be believed. I had to stop watching it because I was laughing too hard. It's like Home and Away crossed with 90210 and actors made of cardboard!!

The David Tua fight yesterday was so boring!! All the hype and media attention, and it was 20 minutes of "jab jab, snore snore". And Tua lost!

They've stuck this massive massive Santa up on the other side of the road from my work office. He's pretty amusing. He waves a large finger at people (Why I don't know) and also opens and closes his eyes slowly. To tell you the truth he looks like he's pretty drunk, but I suppose being 5 stories high you can kind of forgive him. I'm told he's a local icon of Auckland. Once I get some of these photo's scanned I'll show you what he looks like.

Well I've just sorted out another fault. Why they keep happening at 5:10pm each night is beyond me, maybe I should do what everyone else does and rush out the door at 5pm. Still, it's good experience I suppose. It's 6:30 now, so I'm going home!
