Jeremy, Nicole, Granny, Bilby. Visitors-a-rama.

Submitted by TiM on

Been a busy few weeks here at our house.  Last Tuesday night, on the night the Cyclone was supposed to be hitting us, Jeremy and Nicole arrived in their little car.  I'd actually left work early because I had to fly to Auckland really early the next morning for a customer meeting, so I came home about 3pm.  I wasn't sure what time Jeremy was arriving and wanted to make sure I had the "most" time with him.  I went and picked the kids up from Kindy, they were excited that Uncle Jeremy was arriving though I'm not 100% sure that Theo knew exactly who that was.

About 5:30 or so Jeremy and Nicole arrived in their little car!  Lovely to meet Nicole, and great to see Jeremy again.  The kids enjoyed their company too.  Uncle Jeremy was even made to read some books at bedtime which they loved, though Theo of course tried to milk the fact that he wouldn't say no to anything.  I think he'd still be in there reading books now if I hadn't gone in and crabbed at Theo.  We had a lovely night, apart from the fact muppet ol' me ran the BBQ out of gas.  I was sure there was still heaps in there sloshing around, but it only ran for about 25 minutes before giving up.  Oops.

Wednesday morning I flew really early up to Auckland, just for the night.  Went to visit my old workmate Tony at his new place of work, it's amazing how small everything seems to stay here.  Interesting couple of days in Auckland, didn't really do or see much apart from work, which was very hectic.  On Thursday I was originally booked back on a 7:30pm flight but after the morning was spent discussing etc everything work related everyone agreed I might as well head back on the 4:30pm flight instead, which I did.  So it was nice to get home a decent time and have Sarah and the kids waiting for me at the Airport.

Saturday was a normal Saturday, I took Theo swimming while Beth and Sarah stayed home.  He was great again, he's starting to get some courage when it comes to putting his head under the water.  He still doesn't love it, but he doesn't scream NOOOO like he used to.  He even went under a couple of times and then asked to do it again, a real chance of tune from the previous weeks.

After swimming I came home and put Theo to bed, then took Beth for a big walk up to the shop to get an Icecream, then back home where I tried to get her to have a sleep too.  Didn't work, but worth a try, nice to take her for a big walk.

Sunday we went out to the Farmer's Market where we met up with Holly and Adrian.  They'd scored us a perfect seat with an umbrella and everything!  Had a good time at the Market, Theo had his Yellow Trolley again and he diligently dragged it around the market for us as we piled it up with bread and Blueberries and other items like that.  When we got home we all went for a lovely swim in the pool, it was a super hot day so we had a good time in there too.  Both kiddies have good confidence in the water now, as long as they have some sort of floatation device on.

Once swimming was over it was time for a sleep, everyone went for a snooze except Beth who kept getting up to wake me up.  Oh and Sarah went into the Clearance Shed to buy lots of bargains.  Then Granny and Bilby arrived, just as Theo woke up too which was perfect, he was in a super happy mood!  We all had a lovely time playing out the back etc, Sarah cooked us a lovely dinner and we had a nice meal and catchup.

Then time for bed to get ready for Monday, boring Monday.  And that's about it really, except Tuesday night (last night) we all went for dinner at Sharni's.  The last time we went to Sharni's was when Mum was here the night before Sarah and I flew off to Bali.  That night they totally cocked everything up, they bought out all the adult meals before the kids.  But last night was good, the kids meals came out about 5 minutes after we ordered them, exactly what we wanted.  And Theo had had a good sleep at Mary's so he wasn't tired and crabby.  We had a really nice night, Maggie was there too it was quite a full house, the only person missing was Peter becuase he's in Melbourne. Or probably Tasmania now.

Oh yea and Dad has his Gall Bladder out last week!  He went in just to have the stones removed but then they took the whole thing out.  Good call I say, stupid little organ.  I'm glad mine is gone, it was a bag of pain!!!
