Intense Screaming
The last few mornings, every time I've sat down on the couch with my laptop to write a diary entry, some form of child meltdown has occurred. I'm just trying to ignore it this morning, Beth's just rushed out screaming "No don't tell, don't tell", obviously she's done something bad to Theo and is sure he's going to report it to me and get her in trouble. Theo seems happy enough though so whatever it is it can't have been too major.
It was super hot yesterday, Holly, Joseph and Isla came over for a swim. The pool was fine, a little cloudy though so I went to the pool centre to get some clarifier for it. They were out of heaps of products, said it was a mental day for people coming in trying to get their pool ready for a swim. I think if you're leaving it to the day the weather is perfect you're a bit stupid, it takes longer than an hour or two to get the pool nice and sorted. Anyway I got some clarifier for the water and put it, ran the pool pump overnight and checked it this morning. It's always a bit of a lottery, is it going to have worked properly, or is something else causing the cloudiness? This morning though it's perfect and clear again, so I'm glad I figured out the right thing to do for once.
We went out to the Farmer's Market last Sunday, we took Theo's little yellow trolley and he had a great time wheeling it all over the show. We also took the 2way walkie talkies and they weren't a bad idea really, makes it a lot easier to find each other in the crowded market. I think we're going to go again today, it looks like a nice day so we might as well head out there for something to do.
Typical work week last week and the week before, not too much exciting going on. Theo and Beth went with Sarah on Friday to the dentist, the dentist said their teeth are nice and strong and clean and all those things. Beth has a bit of an overbite so we have to make sure to clean her back teeth more as they'll be more susceptible to cavities.
Our new tent arrived last week, thank you Dad and Mum for it. Bit of confusion as it weighed more than I thought, turns out the PDF I've been reading had the weight wrong, listening it as ~18kg when it's true weight is more like 22kg. Not a huge big deal, it's not like we were going to carry it miles inland anything, it's pretty much a drive it in the car and set it up tent. But still annoying, I emailed the company and they basically said "Oh yea ooops sorry about that" which was a tad annoying. Anyway, it's a minor, the tent itself is awesome. Only took Sarah and I 10 minutes to setup, with Theo and Beth "helping" a lot. So much excellent helping. We thought about sleeping in it last night as an experiment, but it was so fecking hot that I suspect they wouldn't have gone to sleep until 10pm or so.
The upstairs aircon started dripping again last night. So annoying because we paid $180 to have it serviced a little while ago to fix the dripping. And of course the company that we paid to have it serviced have since gone into liquidation, so we can't get them back to look at it for free. Hopefully it was just because it was so hot and humid yesterday, if it keeps up though we'll have to get it looked at again, having water drip on a wooden desk isn't exactly optimal.
I can't think of much else and Theo is demanding I play with him, so I'd better do that!
