Slap my Cheeks, I weigh how much?
Again, Diary, again. I'm sorry. So, not last weekend but the weekend before we went out on Saturday night! Yes it was Mary's Birthday so Sarah organised a baby sitter and off we went. Had a good night too, though I had more to drink than I meant to! I was quite doo-lally by the end of the evening, I blame the Four Stroke beer I was drinking though I don't think it was that strong. Either way we still had good night up at the Mission Estate, followed by a brief walk down the hill before a maniac in a car (Peter) came to pick us up and drive us back to their place. We stayed for an hour or so while everyone put on old 45rpm records and danced the night away.
Sunday I was feeling decided average! We went over to Peter and Mary's for a lovely cooked breakfast but I wasn't feeling it, Theo was of course though so packed away enough for myself and him too. The rest of Sunday we didn't do much, Holly and Adrian came over in the afternoon to look at bunner's massive growth and to collect some Feijoa's. They're still thick and fast all over the ground, it's mental.
Hell I can't even remember what happened two weeks ago, this is why I need to keep my diary up to date. Last weekend what'd we do... Hmmmmmm, that's going to be a hard task to try and rememnber as well.
Saturday didn't do a real lot, got the kids to help me put a lot of the stuff from the back garden away in the shed, the stuff we're not going to use over the Summer months. Tables, chairs etc. Well to be fair I didn't make them lift all of it, Sarah helped. Got the shed tided up and also setup Peter and Mary's old computer for someone else who wants to use it. I installed Linux Desktop on it for him, a bit mean but it's very unlikely to get a virus that way and at least he'll have access to Chrome.
I do remember Sunday when Sarah said "Oh do you think you might have put on a few Kgs?" to which I laughed and said don't be silly. Then when and got on the scales and went "Ohhhhhhhhh dear". So that prompted me to crack out the bike from the shed. Give it a bit of a once over, pump up the mega flat tires. Then all this week I biked to and from work! 9km each way according to my fitbit. I also totally watched my diet, which is something I haven't done in a while. Especially lunches of late, I've just been eating junk because I've just needed to pack something away before getting back to work. But this week I was really good.
Apart from last night riding home when the chain jammed up and I got crabby and forced the pedals. Then I realised I'd just moved the front derailer into the rear tire. Fek. Now I couldn't pedal! After a lot of swearing and forcing I managed to get it back into place, but it wasn't quite right still so I couldn't get into anymore than about medium gear. It's a great bike don't get my wrong but it's also one of those really stupid ones with like, 21 gears or something dumb. Honestly, 3 would be fine. Anyway it was stuck in middle gear and any attempt to make it a bit faster would resulting it on not working or clacking away badly. So I had to ride at about 5km/h with my legs spinning faster than an out-of-control ferris wheel to get anywhere. Eventually I made to Peter and Mary's for Peter's Birthday. Beth had had a rough night so I wasn't too surprised when I turned up and she then took herself off to bed. Then she had an even worse night last night, up about 8 times I think. My fitbit says I slept for 4 hours.
The poor little chicken, she's got a really puffy red face, a temp of 38c or so even with pamol and neurofen. She's also got a rash. Sarah too her to the Dr's this morning and she might slapped cheek. Which is a virus. Certainly all the symptoms align and it would also explain why she's been a bit of a turd the past week.
Not much of a diary entry I'm afraid. But I'll try, diary, I'll try to update you more often. But I said that last time and the 20 times before that, so I don't hold much hope.
Oh! Oh yes! The kids are back swimming at a new place called Jillyfish. Beth LOVES it and it's a real shame she was sick today and couldn't go. Theo wasn't so sure last Saturday, but he did enjoy it a bunch especially because he goes with Isla too.
