Adele - "No Like" Vomiting
Theo has learnt a new phrase and it's "No Like". "No Like" can be applied to all manner of situations, mostly the ones that he doesn't like. Throw him around in a way he's unhappy with? "No Like". Refuse him a cracker? No Like No Like. He's pretty funny. But he's really happy he's finally figured out a way to tell us when he doesn't like something. He used to try other things like "Down" and "All Done" but he's finally figured out No Like is the winner.
Sarah flew up to Adele on Thursday afternoon. I was worried for her flying up there at ~1pm, getting into town to drop her bag off only to have to head back out to the stadium to be ready to go for the 7pm start. But she made it all perfectly, the plane wasn't delayed or anything. I picked the kids up from daycare and cooked them dinner, everyone was happy! It was a nice day, I got them all to bed and all done. Friday morning I was tasked with taking them both for a haircut, last time Theo went he screamed bloody murder for 15 minutes. This time I took him and I took lots of distractions and we got the lady to buzz my hair a lot with the clippers showing him that it wasn't really all that bad. And I had a little car to zoom around and entertain him as it was being done. So he's all clipped and there wasn't any tears or screaming etc. When it was Beth's turn she was amazing, we got quite a lot cut off and I was worried that she'd be really upset by the whole thing but she wasn't, she didn't seem to mind how much was being cut off. She happily chatted away to the lady doing her hair and was basically a dream. So that was good. Afterwards for a treat I took them to the cafe and they both had some chocolate biscuit and a fluffy.
I bought them home, put Theo to bed and waited for him to go to sleep. And waited. And waited. He crying a bit, then suddenly he was crying heaps. So I went in to see what was wrong and at first I didn't recognised what'd happened because of how much chuck there was everywhere. Poor little fella, he had no idea what was going on. Ugh. So I got him up and bathed him and sorted him out, he seemed to be OK after that but he really didn't want to go to bed so I didn't force it. Friday afternoon I took them to the bike park and they enjoyed that, though Theo can't quite ride "wheels" yet, that's his new trike with pedals. He loves to point it and say "Wheel! Wheel!"
Saturday morning I just pottered about with the kids until it was time to get Sarah. She was pretty tired from a busy weekend, Peter came over. When it was time to go to bed Beth saying how she needed "to do a spew!" but we dismissed it thinking she was just copying what Theo had done a day earlier. Well, she was copying but in the bad way, she did a big ol' mega spew while I was out getting dinner. All night the poor little thing was up, I looked at my Fitbit (it tracks sleep) and it told me I was awake 18 times that night. That seems about right, after the 5th time getting up I just slept on the couch because I was getting sick of walking downstairs all the time. She seemed fine on Sunday though, we kept her in bed all day watching cartoons and trying to encourage her to sleep.
Not a lot else happening, I have filled up my Greenwaste bin again. The shredder that Sarah bought off TradeMe has come in useful too, I cut down a lot of Pear Tree branches and mulched/shredded most of them.
Oh yes I should point out Sarah had a great time at Adele!
