Day one of our holiday in Auckland.

Submitted by TiM on

Beth was quite good at sleeping last night. She took a while to go, it was all quite exciting in someone elses bed, but she finally got to sleep about 8:30pm or so. She woke up again at 11, I can't quite recall what for because by that stage I was fast asleep myself. She was then up and awake at 6:30am, which isn't too bad really considering her room is super exciting. Last night she said to Sarah "I wish I had a room like this" and then looked at the ground like we were the worst parents ever.
Once everyone was awake and fed, we set off in the car to Butterfly Creek. Took ~20 minutes to get there which isn't too bad. We were there pretty much on opening time too which worked well for the butterfly enclosure, as it wasn't packed with screaming children. Just ours. No they were great, Beth loved it and Theo really wasn't sure. He didn't like it at all when a butterfly landed on him, but Beth seemed to love the Butterflies. Though she can't stand still for .2 of a second, so there's no way a Butterfly was going to land on her.
Once we'd finished looking at Butterflies we went and had a bite to eat, then we went and looked at the Animal farm. After having a look at the Animal farm we went for a ride on the train. The train was the biggest let down as far as I'm concerned, because it was a rip off. But Beth LOVED it so I guess it wasn't that much of a rip off. Theo seemed to enjoy it too, they had Dinosaurs hidden around the track and peeking out of bushes, he seemed to enjoy seeing those peak out.
Once the train ride was over, it was time to call it a morning. We headed back home and gave Theo his bottle, he's now having a sleep. Beth's watching Doc McStuffins and Sarah's out shopping. It is Auckland, after all.
