Recovering Well
Ugh, everyone woke up too early this morning! Beth had a sore leg at 5:30am, then just as I was getting off to sleep at 5:50am, Theo decided he was going to wake up and start laaaaing. I got him up, gave him a bottle and have put him back down for a bit more of a sleep. Otherwise he's going to be totally knackered during the day. Seems to have worked, I can't hear anymore noise at the moment.
I am recovering from my Gallbladder removal really well, better than I thought I would. I woke up yesterday and felt pretty much 100%, hardly sore at all so I took the scooter to work. Don't see the point of having Sarah run me around (like she has been, thank you lovely wife) to work when I can easily make it myself. I'm still a bit stiff and sore, but getting much more flexible every day.
Mum's been here the last week and it's been really nice, she's been helping out with the kids and also washing and hanging out clothes etc. Thanks Mum! She's gone over to Holly and Adrian's for a few nights now while they're away, she gets to look after Rusty.
Removed Windows 10 from my trusty XPS last night and re-installed Xubuntu Linux on it. I got sick of waiting ~5 minutes from when I turned it on to when it was usable. Now I don't have Skype though, of course. There's always a trade off. I've been helping Dad out the last few days with figuring out what iPad to buy. Apple seemed to have really got the right answer with a thing they offer called an Apple SIM, perfect for people who want to go roaming to different countries like he does, but of course it turns out the Apple SIM is a built in piece of hardware that only comes with the top-of-the-line iPad Pro, which Dad doesn't need. Back the old and stupid way of having to buy a SIM card in each country you want data in. Sometimes I can't believe it's 2016 yet no one has figured out a way around these trival sorts of problems. Well, Apple have but they won't share it unless you pay mega bucks.
Beth and Theo are back at Jenny's this week. Hard to tell if they liked Debbie's or not, Theo seems to enjoy everything no matter what and Beth seems to be going through some sort of phase at the moment where she's just generally crabby and upset a lot of the time. She isn't eating her breakfast/dinner very often and just likes to argue the whole time with everything. The terrible two's I suppose, but she's nearly 3! I hoped we'd missed it, maybe it's just late onset. Beth also has a little raised lump on her neck, nothing major but we'll get it checked out because of course it scares the shit out of me. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about, but it still makes me nervous.
In other news, we get to go out for dinner again on Friday night, thanks Mother! Looking forward to that.
