In The Navy...
After work last night I caught the Devonport Ferry over to (suprise suprise) Devonport. From there I walked the 10 minutes over to the Navy base to go and visit Ryan on the HMAS Brisbane. Well, it took about 1/2 hour after I had to get past the Nazi guy guarding the base. He was about 140, and had a bug up his arse about letting people in.
I managed to get Ryan on the phone, who did a bit of begging etc, and eventually Nazi Navy Dude decided to let me through. Massive security risk though I obviously was.
Anyway, Ryans boat was really cool, a lot like Jeremy's. I suppose a Navy boat is pretty much a Navy boat though. It's certainly not something I think I could handle for any more than about 2 days. Ryan's coming back in September, so we'll be able to catchup again then.
Woohoo. Looks like next Tuesday we'll be getting a trip down to Wellington. We've got a big team meeting going on, hopefully at which a lot of shite will get sorted out about the current group structure. It'll be good to go down to Wellington again and catch up with the Wellington guys. I speak with them almost everyday on the phone, and I think it's about time they brought me a beer ;)
Now that I'm moving out the city it's time to buy a bike so I can ride into work. It's about a 20 minute walk out to my new place, and it's all downhill (into town) so I can jump on my bike and fly into work. Not that I've got a bike yet, but I am going to buy one this weekend. Finally.
My poor MiniDisc player! I dropped it in a major way the other day, and now it's all dented up. Amazingly, it still works perfectly. After all the hassle I had getting it to New Zealand, it'd be a shame if it snuffed it now. Not to mention very expensive to replace it.
Well, another very interesting and busy day at work. I'm certainly looking forward to this meeting next Tuesday, lets just say that much!!
Home Time!
