School Report

Submitted by TiM on

Beth got her first school report on Friday!  Us being the great parents we are, didn't realise until Holly asked us on Saturday night "How'd Beth's report go?" and we had to ask what she was talking about.  Anyway here it is, she's done very well for her first year at school!

What's been happening the last few weeks... Well last weekend Sarah was supposed to fly up to Auckland on Friday night, but the weather was terrible and AirNZ cancelled a few flights, so she flew up on Saturday morning instead to go to "MeasureCamp" which was a conference relating to her work.  We all got up bright an early on Saturday morning to take her to the airport, then after we dropped her off we went to McDonalds to get a bludge breakfast and to have a play on the playground.  Then we went home, and then took a walk with Biscuit up Dobel reserve.  Then we went out to Brave for lunch, then came home!  Sunday we went to pick up Sarah from the airport, just before we left there was a Tsunami warning on my phone, then there wasn't.  I was a bit worried but after doing a bit more checking it turned out there was nothing to worry about.  So we headed over to the playground for a little play before going to get Sarah from the airport.

Ooohhh the other thing was Sarah bought the kids Monopoly (kids edition) last weekend. THEY LOVE IT.  They're ecstatic when they're winning, and they're in tears when they've got no money left.  It's real highs and lows.  But they love it so much, they keep asking to play it all the time.  The only problem is you have to be in right mood to put up with the highs and lows of winning and losing.

Pretty average week at work, had to do some late night work Monday night/Tuesday morning cutting over from MSDPC cards to MSMPC cards for a large Mobile carrier's mobile data network.  One big commit written by Liviu and it.... just worked.  It was a thing of beauty!

Apart from that just a normal work week, I have been riding my bike to and from work as usual, I haven't been doing any running or anything though, it's too hard to get out of bed in the morning seeing as how cold it is.

Yesterday I took Biscuit and Theo for a walk down to the tunnel, we were going to take Biscuit for a run up along the motorway but it's all closed off, I think they're extending the concrete path.  So we walked back home, then we all went to the Aquarium which was a lot of fun.  Then we went and got some lunch, came home and we put the kids to bed.  I had to crap at Theo about 4 times to get him to go to sleep, but given I knew they'd be having a big night it was the right thing to do.

Dinner time the Mooney's came over, the kids all went into the lounge for a disco (glowsticks in a dark room) while we had drinks and chats in the kitchen.  That's when we found out about Beth's school report!  Anyway we had a nice night, was good fun.

This morning I saw a post on Facebook about the local scouts who were doing a $5 carwash to raise funds, so I took the kids up in the car to get it washed.  This afternoon we ALL went for a bike ride!  Sarah took The on the back of her bike, and Beth rode her bike.  So the three of us went rode to the Supermarket, then did a couple of loops around Anderson park.  Then we rode home!  Beth did such a good job, she had one major crash but apart from that she was fine, and even with the major crash she got back on her bike and kept going, which is great to see.  She really enjoys riding her bike.

And yea, now we're at home watching the Lego Masters final.

Oh during the week Sarah got a new phone and computer.  Lucky her.  I still have my old busted Pixel, which I love and is great, but I just wish the battery lasted more than 4 hours!
