Today we woke up (I was knackered after a terrible night's sleep) and went to see Peter, Mary, Tom and Paulette at the local Palmers cafe. Had a nice sit down chat to everyone, everyone had a chuckle at me as I limped around like a cripple. Because right at the moment I am. The kids played on the playground at the cafe the whole time. When it was time to leave, Beth threw a huge wobbly. Didn't want to leave, wanted to stay and play. "I don't want to go home" she kept repeating. So Sarah said "Look where we're going, they've got a huge trampoline!". Straight away Beth was interested, and I wasn't sure where Sarah meant.
In the car I picked up what Sarah was getting at. She was telling the kids it's got a Trampoline, it's got a puppy, there are bikes, there's books, there's a pool but it's a bit cold, there's scooters to ride. "Yes Theo yes there's Lego, big and small. It's got all these things!"
The kids were so excited. "It's got a puppy? And a Trampoline? What's it called??" "It's called HarmanWorld! Yes, we're going to HarmanWorld!"
"Why are we driving down our street?" "Is it past our house".
When we pulled into the Driveway the kids both SCREAMED and SHREAKED. Beth threw her toy dog Diamond at us. Theo started fitting. Sarah and I meanwhile couldn't stop laughing at our joke, which of course enraged the children even more.
Sarah had to reason with Beth "What part of what I told you wasn't true? It has got all those things!". Beth didn't like this answer. Anyway, after 10 minutes they calmed down. We were still laughing though, it was so funny. Poor kids. They were getting more and more excited by all the damn things they have access to and when we got home they just totally and utterly lost it with rage.
Otherwise had a peaceful day. Took the kids for a walk on their scooters, all dressed up in their knee, elbow and wrist pads. Biscuit came. We had a popcorn picnic by the grass (thus all the road noise in the video sorry) to the side of the motorway (separated by a large rivulet, not close to the cars) and then walked back home. The kids watched some movies while I pottered about, trying to walk places, groaning.
And now the kids are all in bed, I've caught up on all my diaries and I'm going to go to the supermarket and then bed.
