Remember that crap SuperTramp song?

Submitted by TiM on

Do you remember that really bad SuperTramp song that went "It's raining again, oh no, I'm losing a friend" etc over and over again? Well that's how it's been this frikking weekend in Auckland. The rain bit anyway. Plus that song just sucked, it was way to repeditive and annoying.

What else? Well really nothing, this has to be the most boring weekend on record since they started keeping records. It even rained so hard this arvo that my Sky TV stopped working. I mean, great. I have Sky TV to watch when it's pissing with rain, but because it's pissing with rain I can't! The TV is against me! Everything is against me.

I'm going to get my drivers license this week, I have to. Much as I've been joking about it, now that I'm moving out to Penrose I'm going to have little choice but to drive each...

Got to work today and there were 2 six packs sitting on my chair with my name on them.

Life is good (even if we are moving out to funking Penrose)

Rage Against Penrose

Submitted by TiM on

Damn I'm pissed off, we have to pack up all our stuff and move out to Penrose tomorrow. This is not good! Obviously there isn't much I can do about it, so tomorrow I"ll turn up for work and pack up the office into boxes. Half of which will probably get lost when they move them out there, that's what happened to a bunch of the people that moved out there before.

I got very little sleep last night too, that's probably another reason I'm a bit grumpy today. But hell, it's my diary and if I want to post stuff when I'm grumpy then I will post stuff when I'm grumpy!

I'm really really looking forward to my holiday back in Tassie! 2 weeks to kick back and chill out. Plus of course there is Boags in Tassie. Oh yea, and all my good friends too :)

What a "crap" day.

We got a phone call about lunch time saying there had been a bit of flooding near one of our major server rooms, and would it be possible for us to go and have a look at what was happening? We said sure and went down to have a look. We didn't need to even get close to figure out what sort of pipe had burst and caused the leak. I nearly threw up and Tony wasn't looking too well either. We turned around, went back up stairs, rang up and said "Yup, it's all turned to shit". So some poor sap gets to clean that up. Ugh, and I moan about networking being a dump of a job.

Ok enough crap crap jokes. Ooops.

Apart from that it's just been a generally sucky day that I wish had never happened. Looks like TelstraSaturn might be buying Clear Communictions. Clear...

Four Leaf Clovers Are A Crock of Shit.

Submitted by TiM on

Don't believe the hype people. Today I found a four leaf clover and about 3 minutes later I fell off my bike! Those little bastards aren't lucky. Don't trust them. I'm declaring today the International "four leaf clovers are bastards" day.

Right well I'm glad I got that little rant out of the way. I've got got back from a massive BMX ride, I reckon I've been going for about 3 hours. I rode my bike up Mt Eden for a laugh. Well it wasn't a laugh really, I basically had to drag it up sheep trails. It was good exercise though. It was about 15 minutes of dragging my BMX to get up there, and about 45 seconds ride to get down to the bottom again.

Then I just rode around Auckland for the next couple of hours to get fit. Now I'm dead buggered!

Rob, how the hell...

Bike Riding

Submitted by TiM on

It's another crap weekend here in Auckland, it's the rain sun rain sun trick that I know so well. It's also a long weekend this weekend, I can't remember what the reason for the holiday is exactly, but it's a holiday so I'm not about to complain about it. KA just told me it's labour day.

I've taken a few chances today with the rain anyway, I got rained on this morning when I rode my bike out to get the paper and some breakfast. The paper shop is just a 5 minute walk down the road, but I decided to ride my bike off way down the road and find a papershop there to buy a paper. That way I got my lazy butt some exercise.

Yesterday was great! I slunk off at 12pm telling Tony (workmate) to cover for me if anything should crop up. I went and...

Working Late, Drinking Beers

Submitted by TiM on

Working back late again tonight, so I'm going to bash this entry in really quickly. At least tonight is better than the last few nights, there are a bunch of other people working back with me and we're drinking beer. That's my idea of working back, why can't it be like this more often?

I'm not to worried how long we work back tonight though, I'm going to have a 1/2 day off tomorrow to go and see Che Fu (used to be in SuperGroove, great band). Che Fu is playing up at Albert Park (5 mins walk from work) so I'm going to knock off from work at lunch time tomorrow and met one of my friends up there and hang out and drink beer and listen to music. Should be fun.

Anyway, that's it. Back to work.

Wicked title huh? It doesn't relate to anything at all, I just thought I'd go for the more tabloid approach today.

It's been a typical hell busy day at work, the Penrose thing came up again. Looks like it's going to go all the way to the managing director before someone actually tells us what's going on. Of course it doesn't help that we're telling anyone who'll listen that we don't want to go, and won't go etc etc. Work politics are always very fun.

I found some skim milk powder that's been sitting in the canteen cupboard today and thought that with that and some envelopes I could have a bit of fun. Not that I'd ever do that really! I can't believe what a major thing this Anthrax thing is turning out to be. There have already been two major scares in New Zealand and it's just getting...

Hurry Up Christmas!

Submitted by TiM on

I wish Decemeber would hurry up and get here, I'm really looking forward to a nice holiday for a couple of weeks. There is a long weekend coming up soon, that'll be nice. Hopefully by then I'll have pulled my finger out and got my New Zealand drivers license, so I will be to (at least legally) drive again. My Australian licence expired a few weeks ago and seeing as I've been my usual lazy self and haven't got my NZ license, I've been carless for the last week. Not that it really matters, I hardly drive much anyway except for weekends. I'll get it this week sometime, I've been reading the book lots and all I have to do anyway is a simple theory test. At least it's simple in theory. Ho ho ho that joke was terrible.

Looks like we may not being getting moved out to Penrose...
