Thoughts on fridges...

Submitted by TiM on

An interesting discussion broke out the other day after Simon (my flatmate's boyfriend) made fresh jelly and put it straight into the fridge. Hera said that's not the thing to do, it can ruin the fridge etc because jelly is made from boiling water.

At this point they both looked at me and said "Well?" at which point I put my head down and said "I'm staying right out of this discussion".

Always the safe bet. But later I admitted that I didn't see anything wrong with putting hot things in the fridge.

Today I get an email from Hera's friend saying "what a stupid male you are, everyone knows that you don't put hot things in fridges" (she was only joking with me) but I rang up the Fisher and Paykel hotline to ask them anyway! I'm not going to be called stupid, even if I am stupid!! The...

Stupid Airlines

Submitted by TiM on

Well so much for cheap airfares! I went into FlightCentre today to ask them about their wonderful extra cheap flights to Rio. Turns out that wonderful extra cheap flight is available on a carrier that's recently gone bust. So I could take the risk and cough up my money in the hope that I might get to fly. Assuming they don't get grounded or something, in which case I'd be wasting my money. So stuff all that I thought, not worth the risk.

I've booked a flight anyway, flying with United Airlines. They still got me a fairly good price on it and it's not like money's really a deciding factor anyway ;)

That's all exiciting that's happened today. Some famous person is appearing in the music shop opposite where I work in Queen St. The radio station that's promoting it sucks though, so to be a bastard I rang...

Going To Brazil!

Submitted by TiM on

After seeing really cheap Airfaires to Brazil the other day, but finding out they're not valid in Decemeber, I was thinking to myself "What's to stop me going in July?". I thought about it for approx 3 seconds then realised nothing, so I'm going! I've asked the Boss if he's cool with me having a week off then, he is. We went out on Thursday night and had a few drinkies and discussed this and that and other things. So I'm off into the travel agent on Monday to have a little chat to them to find out what dates I can fly!

I'm in at work tonight, working. That's right, I don't come in just for the fun of it. Nothing to major tonight though, so hopefully I'll be home by about 2am. That's the plan anyway, we'll see how it goes.

Hera cooked a most wonderful roast for...

Busy Day

Submitted by TiM on

It's been a fairly busy day today, the boss man is up from Wellington to meet the new Auckland team. We had a couple of meetings over at Takapuna to discuss the network changes we want to make and to decide who's got what tasks in the upcoming months. Lucky me even scored a few.
Now boss man has rung me up and said meet him down at the waterfront for a quiet bevvie or two.
That's all really, nothing else exciting to add. Well, 1 thing that's very exciting, but I'm not going to add it so you'll have to suffer in your jocks.

Haha!

Random Babblings

Submitted by TiM on

Hi people, prepare to read some random babblings about nothing really very interesting.

Things are going really well at work now, it's so good to have a job that feels secure and has a sense of direction once again. It's really been lacking in the last few months since the merger was announced and everyone was talking about jobs and redundancy and all that stuff. Doesn't make you want to leap up at 6:30am in the morning and troop into work, it makes you want to hit the snooze button 50 times and then drag yourself into work.

But that's all gone now, I'm happy to get up and go into work (esp with a tasty coffee machine making steaming hot coffee on freezing cold mornings)

Ok, so the kitten thing is pretty lame, but it sure as hell appeals to my sense of humour. Poor poor kittens.

I don't...

Lunch Time

Submitted by TiM on

Lunch Time! Yes! I'm starving. 30 seconds to write a quick update. Had a good weekend, went to a party on Sat night which was pretty fun! Woke up on a couch Sunday morning with the quick 15 seconds of "Where the fuck am I?" before I actually remembered I hadn't gone home I'd crashed on my friends couch.
Sunday didn't do much, sat around and recorded some more Tapes to send to B (Hi B!!) I brought myself a 2nd hand tape deck on Saturday (good one too!) so have been going nuts with that.

And that's about it really.

I'm off to get myself some lunch cause I'm starving!

Why is there a flock of sheep on my busted bus?

Submitted by TiM on

I hate days like today. Like I already posted I woke up early and I couldn't get back to sleep at all. I sat around and listened to some music, made a few cups of tea and waited till it got light. Which it did eventually.

Finally I got my bus that takes me to work and it lastest about 10 stops before it decided to crap out and not go any futher.

So we're sitting on the bus, it's not going anywhere at all. The bus driver is talking on his mobile phone and swearing at the back door (it was this causing the problem it wouldn't shut) and everyone is sitting around wondering what's going on. Mr BusDriver obviously forgot his "How to tell people what's going on" skills, because he didn't tell anyone anything. I'm sitting there wondering if the bus was stuffed or if it was...

Bludger Harman

Sitting at home having a good bludge today, seeing as it's Anzac day. That's what Anzac day is for in my opinion.

It amuses me that I've had quite a few people over here in NZ ask me if we have Anzac day in Australia. Seriously. I just say, "Well Anzac stands for 'Australia and New Zealand Army Corps' so what do you think?"

No one likes a smartarse, but fek. Even Johnnie asked me the other day if we have Anzac day in New Zealand. Sorry to dob you in Johnnie, but you did!!

I went out for tea last night with Simon, Hera and their friends Ness and Brett. Went to a place called GPK which stands for Gourmay (sp?) Pizza Kitchen. Very very tasty pizzas. I had a Teriyaki (fek I'm having a shit spelling day. You know what I mean I hope) Pizza which was basically...
