Actually

Submitted by TiM on

I did end going out last night with the boss and another person from Wellington for tea. We went to this most fantastic German resturant in Mt Eden. I have walked past it a million times and always thought "I wonder what that place is like?"
Totally fantastic, one of the best resturants I've been to in Auckland.

They've fixed our toilet floor too.

Takapuna

Submitted by TiM on

Got up at 6am (fuck that) this morning to make my way over to Takapuna by 9:30am. Made it at least.
I'm dead tried and dead grumpy. Ment to be going out into town for drinks with the Boss but I'm not really up to it. I had to fight to keep my eyes open today during the meeting.
Hi to Sambo too if you're reading! I know how you feel!

Sweet

The boss is coming up tonight for a night, so I'm waiting around at work and I'm going to go out with a lager or two with him. We've also got a meeting on tomorrow so we'll probably end up discussing work for most of the night.

It's been a pretty busy at work tonight, just catching up on everything, especially after my day off yesterday. At least the network seems to be running nice and stable and working OK after all the updates on Saturday night.

I'm so happy! I've just discovered ABC Broadband Online. I can now check out one of my favourite Australian TV Shows (Media Watch) online! How cool is that? That's the bonus of working for a company with lots of Internet bandwidth, video on demand works really quickly :)

Yea yea, I'm still a nerdy boy.

Looks like to move from Queen St...

Better!

Feeling much better today than when I posted that last story! Sorry about that loyal readers.
Yesterday I stayed at home and slept and bludged pretty much, it made up for Saturday night which was heart attack mania night.

The weather in Auckland is still shit. I have kind of given up ever seeing the sun again at the moment. It's a real pain in the arse too, I have been riding my BMX a bit the last few days and I always end up getting rained on. And I get a wet arse too from all the water that flicks up. Still, my attitude now is "fuck the weather" so it can hail on me now for all I care. The worst that can happen is I'll get Pneumonia. Oh, wait. That's not a good thing, is it? :)

Anyway, time to get to work now.

Fuck It All

Submitted by TiM on

Last night didn't go well at all. I reloaded one of the core boxes (really important to the network) and it came up with no config on it. Blank. Sweet fuck all. After about an hour of running around and a few silly mistakes on my part we finally got the config back onto the thing again and I was able to breath a lot easier. Took a good 10 years off my life though, especially once I realised we had no International traffic (ie we were cut off from the rest of the world)

Got it sorted though, finally got home and into bed at about 6am. Joy. As I've said before, and I guess I'll say it again soon enough, it's a job.

Anyway that's it. I'm grumpy and pissed off and don't really give a flying fuck right at the moment

I Love Saturday Morning!

Submitted by TiM on

Fek I love Saturday mornings! It's so nice to get up and mope around drinking big mugs of Earl Grey Tea, listening to music loud and sitting in the sun. Cause for once on the weekend there is sun. The weather has been so shit for the last 2 weeks. Pretty much raining all the time, esp when I need to catch a bus or something.

Last night was SO MUCH FUN!! I got a call from Bob to come over to the Ericsson building where he works. They'd turned the display area (where they show all the customers their funky products during the day) into a darts area/pub. I sat there for ages discussing stuff with all these people I'd never met before. Being Tasmanian, Stupid Kiwis, My upcoming trip to Brazil (of course!) and heaps of other things. Everytime it got around to shop talking someone would roll...

Waiting

I'm sitting at work waiting for one of my workmates to give me a call. We'll he's not really a workmate, he's a vendor. But he's a cool guy and we're going to go out tonight and have a quiet ale or two at the Kings Arms. I've never been there before, but I've heard that they serve beer, so I guess I'll probably like it.
Oh just got the call too. Gotta go party animals!

Busy Day with some Random Babblings mixed in for the hell of it!

I'm so tired today, that'll teach me for staying out late though. Well not really late, I got home at a bit past midnight when the last bus of the night dropped me off.

Work has been really busy today, it's one of those days where you keep dropping things because someone else rings up with another thing to stress about. I think it's mostly under control though, at least if it's not it's getting there.

I just got off the phone to my girl too, good to talk to her. She's at the ICU with all her workmates in the background hassling her for speaking in english. Little do they know what she's actually saying though hehe.

I went into the big bookstore opposite work yesterday to try and find myself a book on how to speak Brazilian portuguse. There's a guy here at work that speaks a little...

Watching the World Cup

Submitted by TiM on

I'm watching the world cup, Brazil vs Turkey. You'll never guess who I'm going for. I'd go for Australia, but we suck so much we never made it into the competition. I don't mind though, the Kiwi's didn't make it either.

Current score is 0-0. Go Brazil! ;)

Some guy called Fatty just got a yellow card. What a bummer of a name.

Bugger

I tend to find that nothing ruins your day like a huge mountain of nasty unhappy lava. I must remember to go and park my car near a mountain that looks like it might explode. Though I'm not sure my insurance covers lava damage. In fact I'm not even sure I have insurance on the stupid rust bucket.

I don't like the bit of the article that says a new volcano could just pop up anywhere. Our toilet floor is slowly sinking into the ground (I'm not making this up, it is, I can't believe I keep forgetting to write about it) so maybe it's falling into a bubbling pit of lava?

The whole toilet thing is pretty scary actually. Somehow water has been leaking into the floorboards and the floor has gone all saggy. A man came on Friday and put down a bit of board to stop...
