Curry Muncher Cars Pty Ltd

Submitted by TiM on

Hello again for Today! Took Sarah's car in to get a warrant to what has to be the most dodgy looking workshop in all of Auckland. After I dropped it off I was expecting a phone call telling me the engine had fallen out and it needed $2,000 worth of work, but amazingly enough they only said it needed the front tyre replacing! Regardless, I don't think I'll be taking it back to "Don Corleone Curry Munchers" motors again. I don't know how to describe it any better than it.

Still pretty annoyed about the U2 thing! I just hope their rescheduled concert doesn't end up being the day after (or even the day of!) my teeth extraction, which is the 30th March. The Rock (local radio station) has even postponed their U2 ticket giveaway.

Yesterday I had a bit of interesting work, meeting someone in town to find out...

Emergency!

Submitted by TiM on

U2 have postponed their concert! I always knew something seemed to good to be true about it. Perfect, legit tickets. The worlds biggest Irish band performing on St Patricks Day. Something had to give and it seems it has, one of the immediate family of a band member is very ill, so they've postponed.

I hope it is only postponed and not cancelled... It was only 8 days away too!!! Get well soon someone!

R.I.P. Second Milk Frother, I Hardly Knew Thee

Submitted by TiM on

I'm so stupid. I was cleaning the "new" Milk Frother this morning, ready for a nice coffee when I tapped it ever so slightly against the kitchen tap. Arrrrrgh!!!! Another one bites the dust. I'm going to go to Briscoe's again this weekend and stock up on the little bastards. It doesn't matter, I still have my all time favourite mug to drink my glass encrusted coffee with.

Census night tonight!

ROASTIES!!!

Submitted by TiM on

Holy Hell!

I just cooked my first roast and it turned out perfect! I must admit that I didn't roast the chicken, it was pre-cooked and all I had to do was heat it up. But apart from that I cooked it all! The roast potatos, the carrots! The amazing spinnach and the tomatos-in-balsamic-vinegar. Most impressive of all was the fact that I got the timing of everything right so that when it was time to serve everything was done! Woohoo!

Sarah's just got back from Spanish lessons and is watching "Desperate Housewives" on the Tele. We probably have to go out and do a few more census things before tomorrow night, but for the moment we're both taking it easy!

After a fabbo dinner!

Monday Morning

Submitted by TiM on

Good morning everyone! Just back from my lovely walk, this morning I had the joy of being rained on! Just made it more fun than it usually is though.

We went to Briscoes (home-ware shop) yesterday to get a new doona cover set thing. I seem to have issues because we never got the doona cover but I still managed to come away with $150 odd worth of stuff. Everyone needs electric scales! Plus I got a new milk frother after the last one was accidentally cut down in its prime.

Saturday we didn't really do much, I went to the barber in the morning and got a "proper" haircut. The barber was a nice guy but obviously a big supporter of ticket scalping. I was telling him how I'd managed to buy some Rolling Stones tickets on Friday for Sarah's dad and how unfair it is people do the...

Crazy Day

Submitted by TiM on

Crazy day with the weather today, pretty much all it did was blow like a crazy thing. A few times I heard a BANG! and I thought Chirpus' cage had blown over, but he managed to survive the day intact. He's sitting on my shoulder as I type this, preening himself to bits.

The Rock 100's final songs were on today and I got annoyed. As much as I love and worship Guns 'n' Roses, November Rain being number 1 is NOT right. I would like to see AC/DC or something up there, but Back in Black only ranked number 9! I think the TripleJ hottest 100 is better than the rock countdown, The Rock's countdown goes on for 2 weeks (they count down 1000 songs) and ahh bugger it I'm warbling on about nothing. I've just put my foot in a bunch of rice from dinner that I cooked...

Piker

Submitted by TiM on

I didn't go for my walk this morning, bad me. But I was feeling really crappy last night (just overly tired I think) so before I went to sleep I decided to turn off my alarm. I'll go tomorrow though!
Did some good work today, finally got some cables for the Cyclades and got it all configured and working good for dialup access. Wasn't very hard but I spent quite a bit of time after that tuning little bits and pieces on it so it works how we want it to.

A few weeks ago Sarah bought a pack of pistacio nuts and while eating them, found one that had a nice roasted bug in it. She rang up the people, not so much to complain but more to tell them about it so they know for the future. A few days later she got a call from someone who...

A Joke

Submitted by TiM on

Here's a joke that dad sent me yesterday!

Made it up again for my 6am walk. It's getting harder each morning though, I'm hoping there's a point where I can just do it on autopilot!

More censusing last night and another fantastic cooked-by-Tim directed-by-Sarah dinner! Lamb shanks in a tasty cheese/mint/nut coating with leek and feta plus roasted potaties. Yummo.
