I managed to get the scooter kick started yesterday morning. Excitedly I rang the man who I'd organised to collect it and told him I wouldn't need his services. Then I went to drive off on the scooter. Futtt Futtt Futtttttttt it went and stalled. Bugger. Ring man back, actually sorry please do still come and get it.
I get a message from him at 10am that it's been dropped off at the repair shop as agreed. I ring the repair shop at 3pm to find out scooter status.
"I'm sorry, our mechanic got knocked off his scooter this morning and didn't come into work today. Really sorry, hopefully tomorrow".
I swear, we're jinxed.
Peter and Mary are coming up for the long weekend. That'll be fun, they're going car shopping so we're going to help.

New Motor
Darlings, well I have a new car, well a 7 year old white SUPER GETZ - curtesy of Jeremy, bought for a reasonable price. He has a new Ford Zertec, black, sporty...he is in new car heaven, I am just in heaven as I can do/go without having to book the Suzuki. Good luck to Peter and Mary in their car hunting and even greater good luck with the Scooter. Enjoy the long weekend. LOL Mother XXX

Thanks very much for the postcard that was waiting for me when I got home yesterday. Nice to have a second car hey? We're going tomorrow with Peter and Mary to check out the car they're after, hope the weather clears up.
