It was a lovely sunny Sunday today which makes a nice change. We went out to St Lukes to look at cameras and makeup. While Sarah was in Farmers looking at various makeup things I went into KMart and purchased myself a coffee bean grinder! Yea! Now I can have super fresh coffee every morning after grinding up my own beans. It's only a really cheapie $20 one, Sarah seemed to think that $100 was a little too much to spend on a coffee bean grinder (and I have to say I agree with her)
Driving back from St Lukes we came SO close to being in a car crash. The other guy wasn't looking at all and went to do a U turn and only just missed us as I swerved the car violently. Actually it looks like he just scrapped us a tiny bit but that was all. Very scary.
I think we have our mouse problem under control. There's been a mouse chewing up things in our house and it's been really annoying. I set some traps last weekend and during the week I found a mouse caught in a trap. He was still alive so I took him outside and let him go. He'll still have a bit of a sore hip but I think he'll survive OK. No more traps have been nibbled at and we havent' found anymore mouse poop around the place. Fingers crossed.
Happy Fathers Day Dad!

G'day from Phill
Dropped by for a look after a long absence.
Love the look of your site now, although I miss the funny little images you used to use. Real fast too!
I've got exactly the same coffee machine as you and I bought a cheapy (from Woolworths) grinder the other day as well. Coffee rocks. Hobart's first Starbucks is opening up at our end of the mall real soon so I'll be able to pay a riduculous price for average coffee that I have to collect myself in a paper cup just like I did in Auckland.
The non techo people on our floor have just been told that there is only room in Sol's dream for half of em. Pretty scary really. There is even a married couple so they are both stressed!
I've started up the Curry Chapter of the "BigT" Oval Table Club (beer drinking) and we had our first properly constituted meeting at the Tandor and Curry house a week ago. Damn good night made even betta when the boss decided to pay for the beer (Kingfisher sucks - tastes OK but bloats your gut) and the taxi's home!
Oh well, all the best and I'm sure we will catch up soon.
Phill.

StarBucks
Yea, I can't believe I used to be such a huge fan of StarBucks. Reading some of my older stories here makes me want to sob with embarassment. Oh well, live and learn.
I was just reading last night that the cheapie "chopper blade" grinders aren't very good. But the starting price for a burr grinder is ~$80 and the New Zealand Consumer magazine recommends buying a $200 coffee grinder. Bugger that!
About Telstra, it seems that there's not really room for a "Tasmania" in Sol's dream. How many downsizing's is that now? 3?

thank goodness that the poor wee mouse survived! :-)

I know
We felt terrible having to trap him. He's just trying to feed himself too. But it was so annoying finding chewed wood and mice shit everywhere. He's probably still feeling a bit sore! He's also probably chewing up someone else's wood things, the little devil!
