Taupo Rocks

Taupo is a really really nice place! I didn't realise before going down just how huge the Taupo lake is, or how beautiful the surrounding area would be.
The 2 day conference has been extremely productive too which is a postive thing. It helps reassure us that the company isn't poked. The conference was all the other people in my team getting together to discuss problems, solutions and various other things relating to work, and how we can improve the things we do etc to make work more bearable!!

Me and Tony drove down on Sunday afternoon in the hirecar. The company rented us a bloody space ship, but it was pretty cool and able to do 180kmph. Not that we tested of course, oh no. That's, errr, just what the speedo went up to. Yea, that's right. It was when the sheep were whizzing by MUCH fast than sheep normally do that I looked over to Tony and said "Ummm, these sheep are whizzing by" that we realised just how fast the spaceship was tanking along.

Of course mother if you're reading that I just made it up for entertainment purposes, and do not try this at home kiddies.

Sunday night we all went out for Chinese then we went to watch the rubgy in the local pub, Aussie vs Kiwis. I was so tired that I went home after the first try (To Australia, of course), but it didn't matter anyway because we kicked their arses as usual.

Monday was just the conference, Monday night the boss had organised a medievil feast (I already knew about it in advance, no one else did) in the boardroom of the motel we were in. Boy was that fun. Everyone was getting stuck in, we had chicken and lamb shanks, all served without knifes and forks. You could use them if you were a wusso, but it was just "chuck the hand in the chicken, pull out a bit of meat and slap it in your piehole." Fantastic stuff. Everyone agrees that prehaps I shouldn't have tried to eat the raw beetroot on the table. The boss had tried to oragnise a wench so we could yell "Bring us more beer wench! More meat wench!!" but I'm told they laughed down the phone when it was requested.

I also managed to coin the new Inernet termonology moIP, which of course stands for "Muppet over IP" (Don't ask)

Today was more conference then the drive home. Driving home was fun, trying to work out all the jobs etc that have cropped up in the last few days! I spent a quater of the 4 hour journey on my mobile frying my poor brain. I think it's pretty fried already though, so a little bit more really isn't going to hurt.

I also brought myself a 2nd hand minidisc player off one of the Wellington guys. Yea, I do already have a minidisc player but it's all munted. This one was in fantastic condition and it's a pretty new model with lots of cool features my current one doesn't have.

That's it really! I'm going to play some funky guitar and then go to bed. Or probably play funky guitar IN bed then sleep. I'm dead tired (both nights I got to bed about midnight, up at 6:30am) and I need my beauty sleep (stop laughing) for tomorrow.
