Stupid Cat Photos
The title says it all really. I took some stupid photos of the cat for Sarah to have a chuckle at while she was in hospital.

Progress
Sarah is progressing well, no longer on the strong pain killers just the regular ones. Though it still hurts quite a lot, as it would when you've had large bits of metal attached to your bones. She's doing well though!

She's Home
Sarah's home from the hospital today! She's all tucked up on the couch with her big cast raised up to stop the pain. Glad to have her back home.

Patient Update
Sarah's doing alright at the moment. The surgeon did a bit more work to her ankle than he'd originally planned, so her ankle is therefore quite a bit more painful than he'd hoped. The poor girl had a bit of a rough night with lots of pain medication and not lots of sleep. I'm with her now, she seems pretty good but quite tired and sore.

The patient is awake and well! Actually that's not quite true, she has since dozed back off to sleep. But the operation went well, the surgeon rang me up afterwards to let me know which I thought was really nice.

The Naked Gun
The Naked Gun was on TV last night and I'd sort of forgotten how stupidly funny it is. I was howling with laughter even before some jokes had been delivered just because I remembered they where coming. It's one of those movies I remember my brother and I watching when we were little. That and Jeremy's obsession with Weird Al's 'Fat' video.
Sarah goes into hospital for her ankle operation on Friday, I've got the day off work to take her in. She should only be in for one or two nights thankfully. It means I'm going to be all by myself on Friday night, which'll be quite strange!
In other news, not much! It'll be a quiet weekend looking after the patient and pestering the cat!

Powderfinger
Bit of a sad day! Powderfinger played their last show over the weekend, they are no more. As one of my all time favourite bands, this makes me quite sad! But I think it's also fantastic that they went as long as they did and have decided to call it quits the way they did. That's much better than not releasing an album for 10 years then just sort of admitting slowly that it's over.
So farewell to a much loved band. I'm sad to see them go, but they have left some fantastic music behind.

Weekend with Kelly
Had another lovely weekend in Sunny Auckland. On Saturday morning I got up and headed over to the North Shore to pickup a table that we'd purchased from that fantastic site TradeMe. The seller turned up 20 minutes late which was rather annoying. Then when I got the table home I realised it had a few scratches and marks on it. That's really my fault for not fully inspecting it before taking it away, they're only small marks anyway and it's a good table.

Surprise! What A Weekend!
What a great weekend we had! I left work early on Friday to go and pick up Mum and Bill who had just jetted into Auckland. The traffic in Auckland really is mental on a Friday afternoon, I knew it could get a bit nuts but it was crazy! I finally made it out to pick them up, collecting them from the side of the road at the airport (where they'd been waiting for 40 minutes) while the security guard lady kept a close eye on me in case I dared to get out of the car.
Once I had them bundled up in the car I drove them home to show them our lovely new house, giving them the quick tour. Then I zipped down to collect my lovely wife from her work.
We had a BBQ in the sun and just relaxed and took it easy, it was...
