Action a Plenty

Submitted by TiM on

Well no, not really. It's been a quiet week really, some new jeans arrived for me from the UK but I'm just a tad too pooty for them to fit comfortably. They fit OK, it's just I can't breathe with them on.

So it's back into the jogging again, I went for a little 10km trot yesterday in the sun, was quite nice and hopefully I might get a little bit brown before Summer arrives!

Bottled some beer on Saturday, it was looking and smelling especially tasty. I'm sure in a couple of months when it's all bottle conditioned and ready it'll be super tasty. We also deflea/dewormed Tui this weekend, it's always a fun procedure to squirt the little bottle of liquid on the back of her neck and then watch her stare us with eyes that say "You bloody traitors!" - She always gets over it though after...

Rockin'

Submitted by TiM on

Phew! Spent a couple of hours today working on the garden down the side of the house. Like the rest of the land, it's full of rocks and other bits of stuff. Whichever smart person filled this bit of land in they were really using their head, because not only is it full of broken bits of brick and rock, it's also full of broken glass. All over the show, window panes, bottles smashed up etc. I have no idea what the hell they were doing but it was a mess. I managed to get it all cleaned up so now it's just mostly soil.

Silly Tui! Just had to yell at her not to catch a bird, she still tried but I managed to stop her. She wasn't impressed.

I've just been out and dry hopped my Ale, the one a brewed a few weeks ago. Sarah and I...

Mustachio!

Submitted by TiM on

Check out the status of the the mo! Coming along nicely if I do say so myself.

Today I purchased all the ingredients for a Pilsner. 2 different types of hops in the boilup for this one, I hope it will be tasty. I've also got some really uber yeast, the only problem with the uber yeast is that it works best at 12c!

I'll have to do my best to keep the beer cool, I probably won't be able to keep it quite there but I'll do OK. It smelt really good going into the fermenter so I'm happy. The Pilsner is going to be called "Mustachio!" in honour of my Movember attempt. Which is doing really well, a nice anonymous person (I since found out who) made a $100 donation which was fantastic!

We also did Christmas shopping today, we didn't get heaps of stuff but we got...

BBQ Weather!

Submitted by TiM on

Click here for the latest on the Mo. Please remember to donate if you can, I'd really appreciate it and so would a lot of testicles.

We had a great weekend, Sunday we had a BBQ and had a bunch of people over.

Angela, John and their little boy Conner (next door neighbours) came over, so did Dave from Juniper and his wife and kids, Scott and Charlotte, Kim, Bevan & Ashling, and Cass! Fek I hope I didn't miss anyone. It was a really nice afternoon, Sarah made up lots of tasty things, I cooked the meats etc on the BBQ, we had a few homebrews and normal brews. It was a really lovely afternoon.

Saturday was a bit of a wash out, it rained for a good portion of it. We still managed to get over to the North Shore for a bit of a look around, plus...

What a Moustache!

Submitted by TiM on

The moustache is coming along nicely. Well ok, but it's coming along slowly. Plus I'm up to $80 which is pretty good! I put some signs up at work that say "You can't mock it unless you've donated!" I think some people just donated so they could continue to mock it. But hey I'm having fun, but I can't see how people enjoying having hair attached to their faces for long periods of time. I guess you just get used to it.

Sarah came back from Sydney yesterday, thank god. I'm not sure how much more curry I could have eaten. I'm just joking. Of course as we all know I could have keep eating curry indefinitely. She bought home presents, it was very exciting. Mostly for the cat, but still presents. The cat got one of those things that rolls around with a fluffy creature attached to it. She's...

All Alone

Submitted by TiM on

I waved goodbye to Sarah on Tuesday morning, she's gone off to Sydney for 3 days, though she's back tonight. Poor me I've been all alone. Well there's the cat for company, but all she does is meow.

My mo is coming along alright. Just alright. People at work are teasing me heaps about it. I'm going to put up a new sign today, no teasing me about it unless you've donated! That'll show them.

That's all.

Wonky Weekend

Submitted by TiM on

Lazy weekend, we went out Friday night with Sarah's friends Di and Ben. We had a really good night, but it didn't end until about 3am. Which is fine, but it sort of makes your Saturday a bit of a slow one. Which ours was, we went and had breakfast up at the French Cafe and then came back home and lazed about for the day.

I went and collected a coffee table we'd bought on TradeMe Saturday afternoon, I got there and the guy said "Is that all you've got?" in reference to the car and no trailer. Thankfully though the table did just fit in the car. When I got it home we put it in the lounge and, fairly quickly, realised it was a bit too big for the lounge. So it's back on TradeMe again, being sold. A shame, because it's a lovely coffee table but...

Movember

Submitted by TiM on

Sarah has pestered me enough that I have agreed to do Movember. I have never had a beard or a mo before, so this will be interesting. If you'd like to sponsor me you can go here and do so. I will keep you updated with photos here.

My workmate Graeme found this auction online on Monday and he promptly forwarded it to me, knowing that I've been after a glass carboy for a while. So I clicked the ol' buy-now option! For so many bits and pieces, $100 is a fantastic price. I went and collected it all last night and the guy had even found one extra plastic brewing barrel he didn't want so he chucked that in too! Score!

Work is still very depressing given the sword hanging over most people's heads. The best illustration of this is that last year for Melbourne Cup there was...
