Selling Stuff

Submitted by TiM on

People came to collect some of their TradeMe's yesterday and Monday. The beer fridge was wheeled away Monday morning by a lovely Asian couple. How they got it into their car I'm not 100% sure, but somehow they did after a bit of shoving and screaming at each other. It wasn't helped the poor things by the fact it was bucketing down, the rain on Monday was insane, lots of flooding around the city etc.

Also yesterday some storage cubes and a Playstation game went. I've got to post a bunch of stuff off to people today, and also post the charger for Peter C's iPad that we accidentally ended up with after our weekend in Rotorua.

The cold weather is here now, you can tell it's into Winter. The cat's starting to get close to the heater every morning. Well sheesh we need the heater, that's only a recent...

Another Half Marathon

Submitted by TiM on

Did another half marathon this weekend! Phew! I tell you what, I was glad when Saturday afternoon rolled around. That meant that I'd done my half marathon and my training days were behind me.
Thankfully, both of them went very well. The Half Marathon time wasn't great, 2:40, another 20 minutes I think on top of my previous Auckland Half Marathon time. But I really didn't get anywhere near as much training in this time around, so I knew it'd be a bit of a struggle. I was fine up until about the 15km mark, when I got really thirsty with no water station in sight, so had to walk for a couple of KM's. Still, I completed it and didn't come last, so I was happy!

Training down in Hamilton went really well too. I'd been told by so many people that the guys I'd be training are all...

Packing Boxes

Submitted by TiM on

We spent most the weekend just gone packing up boxes, plus listing stuff on TradeMe. I currently have 14 things for sale on TradeMe, though 7 of them are PS2 games. My old Amp and CD Player are up there, the beer fridge is going too. A lot of this stuff we could keep, but the beer fridge isn't really necessary and I haven't used my Amp/CD Player since we got back to NZ.
Saturday morning we went to Grey Lynn and Storage King, to load up on boxes. Then had some breakfast at the Richard Road Cafe. Once we got back home we realised that we could have got boxes from the Storage King right near our house. Oh well.

I also did a bit more painting around the place, I'm getting there slowly. I think I'll get someone to come and give me a quote or two to...

Quiz Masters

Submitted by TiM on

We won the quiz last night. Not really saying much though, there were only 3 teams and one of those teams were the bar staff, a last minute ring in. So yes! It was a shame too, because the Quiz Master has spent a lot of time writing great questions this week, so it was heaps of fun as we bantered back and forth trying to figure things out. He writes such great, interesting questions, that's what makes it so much fun. Hopefully next week more teams will turn up.

Work's really busy, but still fun. It's been miserable as weather here this week, just rain rain and more rain. Tui the cat really doesn't want to go outside. I don't want to go outside. Anyway, I should get back to work. It's 8:40am, I just got back from dropping Sarah off at work.

Garden Rearrangement

Saturday the four of us (Peter, Mary, Sarah and I) went to the French Market for some breakfast. Yummo, love the French Market though I have to say I don't think the sausage is quite as tasty as it used to be. Maybe I'm just becoming too posh though, who knows?

We also took them to Chesters, to look at taps, then went to Koko Classics to show them how interesting it is. Koko seems to have realised their old prices were just mental, this time around they weren't too bad.

Saturday afternoon didn't really do much, just blobbed about. I spent quite a bit of time fixing up my website properly, cleaning up all the loose ends since the migration from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7. Everything seems to work again now, the mobile website renders properly, I can now post stories via email again etc. All those things...

Offer It Up

Submitted by TiM on

I spent Tuesday->Thursday down in Wellington. A very busy, hectic week. Lots to try and deliver and never seemingly enough time. It was good fun though. Wednesday Sarah decided she might just fly down to Napier to have a look at a house we both liked there. It was a real whirlwind tour for her, she decided at 9:50am she was going to catch the 11am flight down and off she went!

She went and had a look with Peter and Mary, I wish I could have seen it too but alas I was busy working in Wellington.

Yesterday I found out at 1pm that the agent was presenting all offers to the seller at 4pm! Nice of her to give me so much warning! Thankfully everyone in the Prophecy office was super helpful. Mark stopped what he was doing to man the printer for me, everyone else left...

Selling Up

So, it's on the block! Well it's not yet, but it will be. We still have more painting to do, which I'm not sure when I'll find time to do because I'm off down to Wellington again for 3 days tomorrow morning. On Jetstar, joy of joys, I hope they get me there sometime within the 24 hours time frame they're supposed to fly. All good, shouldn't complain, I'm not paying.

We had a nice weekend, went and did a bit of shopping on Saturday, looking at various wheeled devices. Pushed them around, gave them a trial, all that sort of thing. Still couldn't decide on one we liked, they all have something about them that's not quite right. Plus it's hard to find a sales attendant who knows much more than how to smile and try to be confusingly helpful. So nothing chosen yet.

Saturday night we went to...

Short Week

Hope everyone had a good Easter, we sure did. We didn't do a lot, quite lazy really. Which is nuts because we have heaps to do! I did a little bit of paint stripping around the place, painted one set of windows. We went to the Parnell Pools on Saturday afternoon for their second to last swim day of the season.

Monday Sarah helped me setup the spare room (near the kitchen) to be a little office for me to work from home. I'm glad she pressed me to do that, working has been much easier this week with a proper keyboard, proper seat etc. I get up, go into the office and work. Except when Tui comes in and meows at me. Then I stop for a minute or two to pat her. She likes to hang out with me while I work, silly cat.

Hmmm what else? It's...

Happy Easter!

Boy how time flies when you're busy! So my last entry I was still down in Wellington. Well I obviously made it back from there with no issues, Wellington was nice but it was much nicer to get home and see my lovely wife. I arrived home and Sarah was busy cooking some food for a party with her friend Cass. It was a vegetarian party, so Sarah make an awesome Thai Noodle salad for mains, then a really neat popcorn toffee desert. It was very impressive.

On Saturday we did a bit of shopping, looking around various things. We went and had breakfast at Mojo in Newmarket. Amazingly, the same as we were there last time they forgot about us! The food took ages to arrive, at least this time they realised our order was missing, apologised and gave us a couple of free coffees. Eventually the food arrived...
