Monsters Inc

Submitted by TiM on

If you get a chance to, go and see Monsters Inc, it's one of the best movies I've seen in a while. I went and saw it last night.

It's a pretty basic story line and all that, but it's still pretty damn funny. The outtakes at the end of the movie alone are worth it, they are so hilarious.

Anyway, that's all. Go and see this movie.

Movie Review?

Submitted by TiM on

I brought myself a Playstation 2 yesterday. Not only does it have some funky games (which I probably won't play very much), it's also a DvD player as well. So I had to rush off and get a DvD to test it with. I got out the movie Stickmen, a New Zealand film about pub 8ball.

Check it out sometime if it's available, it's a really good movie.

It's too early and I'm too tired. I forgot to have some coffee before I came to work today. The stupid instant stuff they have at work doesn't really cut it, and I'm trying to cut down on Starbucks, cause while it's nice coffee, it's not really worth $5 a go.

Right, enuff ramblings.

Australian Trip and other stuff.

Well as I said in my last post, I had the best time in Australia. Thanks to all my family and friends who gave me a place to stay at various times while I was there, it was most appreciated.

I picked up my new Camera on the way out of Auckland! Woohoo. The first thing I did was unwrap it out of all the boxes and set it up ready for use.

Once I'd finally arrived in Hobart after the long crappy flight from Auckland -> Melbourne -> Hobart was go into town and get my Australian Drivers License renewed. It expired in October, and I was only able to apply for a 1 year Aussie license if I wasn't in the country. So I rocked up and got my photo taken, handed over the money and now have a nice shiny new drivers license. After that me and...

11 hours to go!

11 hours to go until my plane flys out of Auckland and into Melbourne! I so can't wait! I just waved Bia off, she's gone to stay with her old host family for the Christmas/New Year period.

My bags are pretty much packed, I washed some clothes and stuff before, that's all I'm going to need.

This arvo me and Bia went into town, she had a bus ticket for Hamilton, but her host dad came to pick her up instead, so she had to take it back to get a refund on it. I went into Real Groovy (the coolest record store in the world) and brought myself 6 new CD's. They're all 2nd hand, but they're all 100% perfect. Real Groovy is the best record store ever. It's massive.

Anyway, I should stop babbling on here. Look forward to seeing everyone really soon now!

Last Day!

Submitted by TiM on

Yea! Today is my last day at work. I wish I could say "forever", but sadly that's not actually the case. Just for 12 days of peace and quiet (yea right!) in Tassie.

Only 3 more hours to go in fact. We're having a nice big BBQ here out at Hellrose which is cool, lots of lamb chops and beer and Kava. Remember Kava? It's tasty stuff, the root of the pepper plant crushed up.

That plus a few beers and the ol' eyes are having trouble staying open.

Anyway, nothing more to add. Can't wait to fly back though!

New Camera!

Submitted by TiM on

Yes I finally brought myself a new camera thanks to the Australian Government (I brought it with my tax return money)

I got the same camera that I lost (Pentax MZ-50) but with two lenses instead of one like before. They're slightly cheaper lenses (they're not made by Pentax) but hey, I now have a massive zoom lens, and a normal lens. Plus I got a funky camera bag and some film too. I'm gonna look like a right weenie boy carrying it all around!!

And this time I am not going to lose the fucking thing. I don't get to pick it up until Monday at the airport because I brought it duty free. That's pretty good, I managed to save myself $140 or so.

2 more days of work, including today, then off I fly!

PS: What an incoherent bunch of warble that turned out to be.
