When do I sleep? (or Duvet Drinking)

Submitted by TiM on

Who needs sleep? I don't think I'll bother anymore! I'm in at work at 1:45am again, as usual it seems of late! Maybe I should start writing when I go into work at normal hours, that's rarer these days it seems! Nothing really major tonight, they're just changing some fibre optic cables around and I have to make sure that when they reconnet them the light beams are still doing their funky thing and our network is still going strong.

I rode to work today and it's wonderful. I'm so bored at the moment that I even made a map of my route to work. It's all pretty flat, a nice fast scream down the hill as I leave work, then a few little hills here and there. It only took me 15 minutes to get to/from work though, plus as an added bonus it'll help me get fit! There...

All Moved In!

Submitted by TiM on

I'm all moved into my new place here on the shore! Thanks heaps to Matt, Emi's flatmate for his help in moving all my furniture and heavy crap. He went into his work and borrowed a flatbed truck for the day. We moved all my stuff first, then I helped him move his stuff from his old place to his new place.

On the way back from his place we stopped at this most amazing cafe, I forget the name of it, but it was way up in the hills and it looked down over Auckland. The views were fantastic (even if it was all overcast and crappy) and the hamburger/lamb burger thingy was pretty good too. I have to go back there again soon.

I'm up so late because I had a sleep in this arvo. I didn't get home until 4am last night, the bastards who I was...

Cars NEED Oil??

Submitted by TiM on

I've been telling everyone the last 3 weeks how my stupid car's oil light keep coming on when I braked hard, and how annoying it is. I found out today after I got sick of it coming on more and more that my car didn't actually HAVE any oil in it. Whoopsie! It's got some now. It better not blow up, stupid car, that oil cost me a good $20. I'm always hesitant to put anymore than $10 of petrol in my car, in case it decides to blow up and I waste money on petrol

So enough about my stupid car, I guess you'd like to know how my funky new apartment is going?

It rocks! Thanks heaps to Simon and Hera who helped me pack up my room and my other stuff and helped me move it over here! I've just got my futon, my guitars, my stereo...

Friday - Moving Day Tomorrow

Submitted by TiM on

Friday's rock, that's all there is to it. Hell, I wasn't even going to come into work today, but then this happened and that person rang and it all broke and snapped and I thought I'd better come in. Even Hera said to me this morning "Does you phone always go nuts like that at work?" to which is the answer is yes. Well, it's been quite good of late actually, except for this afternoon. I love the Friday afternoon scramble, when you're trying to juggle 3 phonecalls and a business consult wants to talk to you and your email is going nuts.

I borrowed a bunch of Simon's CDs before I left for work today and I've copied them onto my computer (Yea yea, it's illegal blah blah) so I've had some good tunes to listen too all day. It's always right when a good song comes on that...

I'm about to go and give my new landlord a shiteload of money in anticipation of moving in tomorrow or Saturday.

I've got sore fingers!

I so miss the ABC, the best TV station that there is, with no ads. Just a pity that TripleJ sucks so hard these days. The few times that I fire up the online version and listen to it I'm very dissapointed. Anyway, it rocks that I can still watch cool ABC stuff online

I was late to work today because I stayed up too late last night playing my guitar and then played it too much this morning before I realised it was ten past eight and ran out the door in a mad panic. Only 2 more days of driving though, then I should be able to ride most days. That's assuing that it doesn't rain heaps.

If anyone knows where I can get a copy of the latest Reel Big Fish album "Cheer Up" please let me know! New Zealand doesn't seem to have heard of...

Nutball Flatmates (not mine)

Submitted by TiM on

Hey party animals! It's just been another fun day of work with lots of crazy werid stuff going on. I hear through the grapevine that we have released some new TelstraClear ads apon the public. I watched TV tonight in the hope of seeing them, but to no avail. Gawd I hope these ones are better than the last ones!!

Just had a quiet night at home tonight, Hera cooked another tasty as tea! I've just been sitting here chatting Simon and Hera about this and that. We watched the "real life" Cop show "Boozed And Busted" or something like that before. Very good for a laughing. Nat Morgan if you're reading, most of the bozos on it reminded me of you! heh.

I love my new guitar!! Have I said that already? It's sooo cool. I can't stop playing it, even though my fingers hurt lots and I still...

May I Service Your Burger?

Submitted by TiM on

Back to work today... But not until 1pm! Because I worked so late Saturday night/Sunday morning (didn't get to bed till 5am) I decided I deserved the morning off for a little bit of a sleep in. Good chance to lazy around at Emi's place, drink coffee and then go to subway. Subway rocks, even Tasmania has Subway!

I didn't do much exciting over the weekend really, just hung out with Emi most of the time or played my guitar. Plus lots of work too, of course! And I get to come into work next weekend at 1am due to a bit of a mixup of communications. It's a job.

Yesterday arvo Emi was playing her violin in the orchestra at 2:30pm so I went into town to watch her, and to laugh at the stick waver (proper name: conductor) as he went mental. I swear, he doesn't look like...

And So It's Back!

Submitted by TiM on

And so it's back from outta space! It just walked in to find it here without that look upon it's face! Or something.

Yes my diary is back and working again after I reinstalled the linux box on which it runs. How exciting is that loyal readers? For those who care, this website is hosted on a poor old dell machine running linux 2.4.19 from a slackware 8.1 install.

And if that doesn't mean anything to you then you're probably a normal human being.

I'm in at work at the moment, doing the monthly outage window whatsit thingy. It's the usual fun and games, but everything seems to be going really well and smoothly tonight. Hopefully it'll stay that way!

I get to move into my new apartment next Saturday! I can't wait, it's going to be lots of fun. I've had the best time living with Hera and Annie...
