Dead Tired.

Submitted by TiM on

I'm dead tired this morning... I could hardly get out of the nice warm bed this morning. The fact that it was freezing cold outside and I had to go to work didn't really help matters.
At least I've got a nice strong coffee now to help prop me up.

I've just taken my car in for a Warrent of Fitness. I don't like it's chances.

Back in NZ

I had a totally great time in Australia over the last few days! Mum's suprise 50th was really good, even if the game was slightly let out of the bag by my Auntie accidently writing a card to Mum saying "Glad your mother and your sister can come up to help you celebrate". The night was still lots of fun and mum got a super suprise to see so many people there at her birthday bash.

Satuday morning after the bash my Brother, his girlfriend Dee and my father (aka Johnnie) came over and picked me up from Mum's and we went up the Blue Mountains for the day. Despite the radio saying that it was ment to rain it was the most perfect day, sunny blue sky and not a drop of rain or really even clouds all day. Perfect for a bit of bushwalking and a ride on...

Random Notes From Sydney

I miss my guitar. I had this dream last night that it had got a really bad case of wood rot and had fallen into two pieces. I'm sure that it's OK though, it's all tucked up in it's case safely back in New Zealand.

I'm having a Boags Premium as I write this. They haven't got any less tasty, that's for sure. They're the best beer in the world. And don't even try to tell me about that Black stuff Emi!

It's good to be back here in Aussie again, Boags Beer, Gum Trees, all the good stuff is here! You don't realise how much you miss it all until you come back to it!.

It's Mum's 50th birthday today, be sure to send her an email to wish her a happy birthday! I've been out shopping with her this afternoon, I got dragged around David Jones women's deptarment...

Off To Australia

Submitted by TiM on

Yes, tomorrow I get to leap up at the happy happy time of 4am or so to get my 6:15am flight to Australia. That's assuming I can find my passport tonight, I think I know where it is but I'm not sure. It'll turn up.

Mother, can you please come and get me from the Airport? Ta!

Needless to say I probably won't be updating my Diary again until Monday, when I get back! Rock on Sydney!

Last night Emi and I went to see "Bend It Like Beckham" at the movies. It's a fantastic movie, if you get a chance to, go and see it. It never has a dull moment and it's pretty funny in places. Even if you're not a soccer fan you should go and see it. Here is a movie review, because I can't review movies to save myself. "What it said", basically.

The assult...

Chatting

I've just spent the last hour talking to my mates Chris and Simone on the phone! Good to catch up.
The only reason I'm posting this is because I forgot to mention some stuff I brought shopping yesterday.

I found these 3 cool fridge magnets, that are now on the fridge. They say:
I Love Ballet
Call Your Mother, She Worries
Holy Cow (with picture of 2 cows shagging)

Cool or what?

Weekend And Farking Mondays!

What a crazy crazy day today has been. It started at 2am when I got a phonecall to tell me the rest of the work we did last Tuesday morning was starting now, and was I at work?

No, I was not at work, I was snuggled up in my bed fast asleep. So I jumped out of bed and drove my beast-of-death into work to finish the rest of the work. I got home again at about 3:15am. Just as I was getting back off to sleep off goes the phone again at 3:45am, this time a customer wanting to do the work we'd agreed at doing at 4am. Only thing was, I wasn't expecting them to call me because I'd heard nothing from them all weekend. But anyway, customers are customers. Back into work. Get home again at 5:15am.

Home phone rings at 9:25am to ask me if...

Saturday Mornings Rock

Submitted by TiM on

Gotta love Saturday mornings, they're so much better than Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday mornings. I'm sitting here on the floor of my apartment with the sun streaming in the window drinking Irish Breakfast Tea, listening to Tracy Chapman and trying to figure out how to play her songs on my funky kickarse guitar. I love my new guitar, it's the coolest thing in the world. If there was a fire in my apartment it'd be the first thing I'd save. Well, that and this really cool dog statue that mum gave me in Janurary. Not that I'm planning on having any fires or anything.

I didn't do too much special for my birthday, we had a few beers at work, then I went over to Emi's to go out and get some tea. Like I said in my last diary posting, she also gave me this really cool...

Holy Fuck, I'm 26.

This is it. Today is the day.

I'm old.

I'm crusty.

It's game over.

Yup, today I turned 26! Scary huh? And yesterday my first fridge that I've ever owned (well, new. I brought a 2nd hand one last year but it just froze things) arrived so I'm feeling very old.

I got some cool presents though, Emi got me:

Chocolate covered coffee beans (this are TASTY!)

A use once breathalizer thingy

A "NZ Book of Jokes about Australians" This book sucks and is silly.

UPDATE: Emi also got me a Ukulele!!! It rocks!! It's brown and funky and I think I'm going to throw my new guitar out the window cause this is much cooler! It has a custom fitted bone saddle that Dan (Emi's workmate) fitted specially without even being asked!

Mum brought me a (huge!) gift voucher at Freedom Furniture.

And lots of other people have rung...

Not gonna stop me!

I woke up this morning and, of course, it's pissing with rain. Auckland knows that I want to ride to work so it rains for me. "Fuck this" I thought after a while, packed my normal work clothes (Jeans and T-Shirt) and got on my bike in my shorts and T-Shirt and rode to work anyway.

Sure, the rain makes my brakes hardly work and I nearly smashed into a (stationary) car, but somehow (pure luck?) I managed to avoid it and make it work in one piece. Cold and wet, but my darling coffee machine will fix that.

Sucked in stupid rain, you can't stop me.

Depressing News: I Own A Fridge.

Submitted by TiM on

Yes, today ladies and gentlemen I purchased a fridge. It's white, half of it is a freezer and it should store my beer and dead cow just perfectly.

I went into Takapuna today to checkout all the different fridges and washing machines etc. There are just too many models to choose from, one does this, one does that. And it's funny, but they haven't invented a fridge marketed at guys? Sure, it keeps my vegies crisp, has a 6.8 litre capactiy and blah blah. But what beer holding features does it have? Does it have an optional beer stacker? Bottle opener?

If they made a fridge like this it'd be much more fun shopping for one, then I'd be comparing things that mean something to me.

Once I'd decided on the right fridge and washing machine (the cheapest ones) I asked the nice lady about 12 months interest free terms...
