Cooking, 101

Submitted by TiM on

Ok, no one ever actually told me why you have to defrost things. I kinda regret that now. I had all this tasty tasty strips of beef the other night, but I'd forgotten to defrost them before I went to cook them. So I just thought I'll chuck them in the pot and let it magically defrost as it cooks. Bad move, it all turned out so chewy and yuck and horrible. At least I was making a strong curry, so it wasn't really a problem.

Me and Emi watched the movie "Legally Blonde" last night, it's a pretty funny movie too. Really silly movie, but that's what made it funny as.

I should write movies I think. It's got to be better than work.

I got this email today flagged as urgent, so I opened it. It was an internal company email telling me that I should be watching...

Snappin Out

Submitted by TiM on

I have just been reading some random people's LiveJournal's. There are some crazy snapped out people out there in Internet Land. Sometime I think that maybe I'm a little nuts, but reading other people's journals has made me feel a lot better about myself.

My fingers are hurting again from playing my guitar too much. I know I've said it before, but I love my guitar. Saturday night I was at Emi's work and I played some of the really really expensive guitars they have! They sounded soooo nice. They'd want to though for the extra cheap price of only $4000+ But they did sound really reall nice. But I still love my guitar. I'm getting a little bit better at playing it too. I wrote a song today, the chords at e c e a then e d g a

You can't steal that. It's copyright me.

Whoops

I'm supposed to be tidying my apartment and instead I'm out buying DVDs and CDs. I'm a bad man. How can I pass up an Alice in Chains DVD though? That's right, I can't. Stupid music stores.

Shoe Shopping and a Funny Hat

Submitted by TiM on

Me and Emi went shoe shopping last night. Just at the warehouse, which is kinda like the New Zealand version of Chickenfeed, but better.

For those that don't know, I have a morbid fear of shoe shops. Mostly the shopping assistants really, they're always willing to help, and I get all flustered and have to run away because I don't know what sort of shoes I want. Or what style. It gets to heavy and I freak out. But anyway,

I ended up buying a pair of shoes mostly because I only have 1 pair of shoes that I really wear and they're not even shoes really, they're boots. I also brought myself a really cool silly hat, it's blue and white. I wanted Geelong colours but really it's more North Melbourne colours. Not that anyone over here is going to understand that, they're all going to thing I support...

Snap!

Submitted by TiM on

I'm going to snap and clonk someone over the head with my pint glass (that I stole from my favourite pub) soon. This place is nuts sometimes. Today is definetly one of those days.
But people have just offered to buy me some beer over the road, so I guess it's all good.

Fixed

$490 later and it's safe and back on the road. Go the fanging beastie of death.

No more reports of people complaing about our swearing at work. I think Tony has been fucking restrained myself, full marks to him. It's been nothing to do with me, of course. I'm innocent.

Still at work! It's been a long day, with all sorts of cases of muppetitus cropping up with this project I am helping with. Oh what fun it is. It's all sorted now.

My laptop is back and working once again, I'm a happy geek. About two months ago while I was using it it decided it wasn't happy with life anymore and would start blowing smoke out the side of it. I was most unimpressed. However the little magic men at the IT department of work have managed to stop it being a portable smoke device.

Umm not really...

FAILED!

Yes, my trust Lancer-of-death has failed it's warrent of fitness. The guy didn't go so far as to call it the most unsafe, clapped out, piece-of-shite he's ever seen, but I could tell that's what he wanted to say.

Actually he's a really good mechanic, he's listed what's wrong with it for me and how much it's going to cost, so I am going to get it fixed. I can slowly save up for a new car while I get 6 more months out of the current beast. I'm looking at two new tyres (I only really need one, but I'll get two), new shock absorber (no suprise there, she floats down the road atm) and one of the rear brakes is a little shagged out. Total to get fixed is about $450-500 NZD, which to keep the ol' girl going for another 6 months isn't really that bad.
