Finally!!!

Submitted by TiM on

Finally I have managed to land myself 2 tickets to Reel Big Fish! I got to the point where I was reloading the ticketek website every couple of hours to see if the tickets were there yet, and finally this morning at about 10am it paid off!

In other news, I printed this out and stuck it on my cubical wall just now. I wonder how long it'll be before I'm asked to take it down. I still have my little yellow note that reminds me not to swear, no one has asked I remove that yet. I actually get quite a few laughs from people.

Late Night Working

Submitted by TiM on

I have spent too much time working of late and it's driving me nuts. All these commitments to try and meet. I am trying to offload as much work as I can to other people and I'm slowing getting on top of it I think. There is just so much muppet work that drags me down. Anyway, I'll shut up about that. I'm just bitter cause it's midnight and I'm doing a customer connection.

Like the new random photo thingy? I'll load a random image from all the photos in the gallery and display it. It's kept me amused for 15 mins, watching it pull up old pictures I'd forgotten about. Speaking of which I should take/post some more. Anyone have anything they want to see? My car blowing up or something?

I'll shut up now.

Shoppin

Submitted by TiM on

Yup, it's midnight and I've just got back from the supermarket. How cool is that? I get to walk around the isles with hardly any people there, just all the other scary people my age doing their shopping at 11:30pm on a Sunday.
And no queues for the checkout either.
Umm that's all I really wanted to say. I do my shopping at midnight, therefore I am cool.

International Beer Night

Submitted by TiM on

Last night Emi, Matt and I went into town to meet up with Yvette, her boyfriend Neil and a bunch of their friends. We went to the London Bar, which is a really cool bar that claims to have over 100 beers available. What they forget to mention on the sign is that half of them aren't in stock. For example, when I ordered and "Old Fart" they didn't have one, so I had to settle for something else. We all tried lots of different beers though and had a great time. Pity that the Jazz band there sucked so hard. I swear the old guy drumming was doing his own thing, in fact it often sounded like four people playing whatever they wanted, not a band at all. Oh well. They closed the bar on us at midnight so Emi and I decided to bugger off home (Matt got...

What's your opinion mofo?

Submitted by TiM on

I have just completed and submitted the first TelstraClear employee opinion survey. I hope they read my responses. It was all online, it's ment to be anonymous but it wouldn't be too hard to track people via the Internet. If you don't believe me, click here (user: TiM, pass: guest) and see for yourself!

Not much else is news really, went out last night with the boss for a few lagers. Left early though because all of the IS team was up from Wellington. I'll leave it up to your imagination as to why that made me leave early.

In other news just-to-hand, one of the arms/legs/whatever-you-call-them thingies on my glasses has snapped off. This is very annoying. They are still on my face OK, but they get a bit lop sided due to the only-one-thingy phenomina. I bet I didn't spell that properly.

I'll have to go into Takapuna...

Taupo Rocks

Submitted by TiM on

Taupo is a really really nice place! I didn't realise before going down just how huge the Taupo lake is, or how beautiful the surrounding area would be.

The 2 day conference has been extremely productive too which is a postive thing. It helps reassure us that the company isn't poked. The conference was all the other people in my team getting together to discuss problems, solutions and various other things relating to work, and how we can improve the things we do etc to make work more bearable!!

Me and Tony drove down on Sunday afternoon in the hirecar. The company rented us a bloody space ship, but it was pretty cool and able to do 180kmph. Not that we tested of course, oh no. That's, errr, just what the speedo went up to. Yea, that's right. It was when the sheep were whizzing by MUCH fast than sheep...

Ugh

Daylight savings sucks doesn't it?

I can't believe I'm home and it's 6am! We finished just in time. It was a bitch of a night too, 2 hours of it was spent with me on my mobile phone abusing people because my access key had been cutoff (I'm told there was a database corruption or some such wibble)

Oh well, I've made it home now. Just boiling the kettle for a nice mug of hot chocolate before going to bed. Do I sound like an old fart or what? heh. Hot chocolate rocks.

I keep thinking of all these cool things to write about during the day/night, then when it comes time to write them I forget about them. Must be really exciting huh?

Going to Taupo for 2 days tomorrow sometime and I don't think we'll have internet access, so probably no updates until I get back. At least...

SPCA Day, Work Night, Elvis Ate My Toaster.

Submitted by TiM on

Ok, so Elvis didn't really eat my toaster. But I did go to the SPCA today and I do have to work tonight, damnit. This weekend is going to be non-existant really. This month is getting so busy, all this things seem to be popping up, all at the same time. Good things I mean, my Dad visiting, the Reel Big Fish concert etc.

I'm on the phone as I type this, working on a fault that's been going on for ages and ages and I have no idea what's causing it. I can't find to find the outcome of it, it's a real mind bender. It's been going on for about 3 weeks, and all our top brains have melted (including me) We'll figure it out.

What else to wibble about? Not much really I guess. I have a big presentation to do on Tuesday which i'm only 1/2...
