Flatmate's Revenge!

Submitted by TiM on

Today was a fantastic Auckland day, one of those rare delights. It was sunny, not-to-humid and a perfect day for getting outside and getting some sun, which we did.

I got woken up nice and early (8:30am) because Emi's cat Cleo decided to knock over a bottle of Blue Pepsi (tasty stuff, and I don't usually much like Pepsi) that was beside the bed. So I woke up in a shock with Pepsi leaking all over the place and had to mop that up quick.

Emi's friend Katrina and her cousin Linda were up for the night too, and they'd been kept awake late at night by Emi's soon-to-be-moving-out-because-he's-a-fucknozzle flatmate playing loud shit dance music until 1am or so. So when Kat and Emi got up, Kat jumped on the piano and Emi got on the flute and they made a very nice loud racket to have their revenge. We...

Friday Already!

Submitted by TiM on

Funky! It's Friday already. This week has gone really really quickly, which is how I like my weeks to go. I have been really organised this week, putting all my appointments into my Palm Pilot and turning up to everything on time and not forgetting to call people back when I said I would etc etc. My personal time management sucks, so I have really been forcing myself to plan my time etc etc. Sounds lame I know, but it's made things a lot easier and I haven't upset anyone this week with my forgetfulness. Of course, if people ever do complain I just refer them to this note on my desk wall.

Poor Emi is sick! If you're reading this hope you get better soon! And DO NOT go to work if you're sick! Or I'll come over there and drag you back home again!

UPDATE: Emi isn't sick...

Fish Concert

Submitted by TiM on

The Reel Big Fish concert was totally fantastic, even better than I thought it was going to be, and I was expecting it to be pretty damn wicked.

They didn't dissapoint at all!

We got there about 9pm, an hour after the doors opened. We didn't listen to the support act, instead we went upstairs and hung out at the bar for a while, watching all the other fans. I obviously wasn't dressed properly for the occassion, people had spiked mohawks and funky clothes etc.

Once the support act had left we went downstairs and stood in the crowd and finally the Fish came out! They played a bunch of songs from all their albums, including their really well known popular ones (Beer, Sell Out and the cover of Take On Me)

They were really funny onstage too, all of them seemed to be enjoying themselves and they played around...

Beer....thats it!!!! Just beer

This is not only philosophical but is obviously pure science.

A herd of buffalo can move only as fast as the slowest buffalo,
and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones
at the back that are killed first.

This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because
the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving
by the regular culling of the weakest members.

In much the same way the human brain can only operate as fast
as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know,
kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest
brain cells first.

In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain
cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine.
So that's why you always feel smarter after a few beers!

Reel Big Fish Night

Submitted by TiM on

It's Reel Big Fish night tonight! Yaaa! I can't wait, hopefully it'll be lots of fun. Then on Friday Grinspoon are playing in town! Not sure if I'll go to that yet, seeing as there is a heap of work on Saturday night, but if I get a chance I'll probably go, gotta love the 'spoon.

I picked up my new glasses yesterday and boy, am I a sexy beast now. I mean, I know I was a sexy beast before, but now I just radiate sexy. Ladies, please refrain from licking the monitor after you click this link.

That's all I have to say today.

Paihia Rocks!

Submitted by TiM on

I've spent the last 2 days (and today) up at Paihia and it's been wonderful. We stayed in the most amazing waterfront apartment while we were there. We woke up each morning and could stand out on the deck, just metres from the beach. Fuck camping, we did it in style this time...

I nearly didn't end up going, on Friday I came down with a major dose of food poisioning, I was up all Thursday night/Friday morning crook as a dog. I had to call in sick to work which really pissed me off. I had heaps to do for one thing, plus it always looks really bad when you call in sick the day before a long weekend. I went to the Dr though, mostly because I was very sick but also to get a certificate to show I wasn't taking a sicky.

We drove up on Saturday...

Johnnie

Submitted by TiM on

Me and Emi met up with Johnnie and Jan on Tuesday night and went out for a meal at Mecca, a really nice resturant down in the viaduct harbour. We had a really good time too, the food was really lusho and we had a good chance to chat and catchup.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend up at Paihia, even though I've been told that it's probably going to be crap weather. I hope that's not the case, Paihia is too nice for shitty weather to ruin it.

Congratulations to Laree who sold her house today after much hassle grief and stress!

I had a work from home day today, I just didn't feel like going into work. I guess the day off I had on Tuesday was too much of a treat for me to enjoy!

I get my glasses on Monday, finally! Stupid twits have taken...

Just Some Babble For You To Read (Or Ignore, This Is Probably The Safer Option)

Submitted by TiM on

Hey people! Not much to say today, just a pile of babble and stuff.

Work has been busy but tomorrow I have the most magical of things, a day off. Yes I told, I mean asked, the boss if I could have a day off today and he said yes. All hail the boss. I'm going to turn my phone off and leave it at home and enjoy the sunshine. Or the pouring rain, which knowing Auckland is more likely.

I picked up Dad from the airport yesterday and dropped him off at his hotel, I think I'll catch up with him properly tomorrow night for a meal. We're all going up to Paihia this weekend anyway which will be nice, I really like it up there and 3 days off away from all and any work will be a really good thing!

Emi was watching a show on TV...

The Circus!

Submitted by TiM on

Emi and I went to the circus last night! I was riding my bike on the way to work last week and where there is normally a big empty field a circus seemed to have popped up over night! So on Friday night I went down to see if they had tickets for Saturday night, which they did. When I brought them the old lady behind the counter looked at me funny and said "And what brings you to the circus?" I should have said "Because I want to eat your shetland ponies" but instead offered the weak excuse "Because I saw you had a circus here".

It was a pretty good performace that they put on, much better than I thought it was going to be. When we got there the ring seemed really small and we were all packed in pretty tight, but it turned out to be...
