Big Day Out 2003

Submitted by TiM on

I woke up early yesterday morning in time to make sure I'd packed everything I was going to need. Mostly water, money, sunscreen and a hat. I had a big breakfast of yogurt and bananas and decided I was ready for the day!

I got to Newmarket were I was meeting Bob's mate Andy so he could pick me up. He picked me up and drove me to Bob's place... Bob was waiting with a Vodka and V, playing some loud Datsuns. We had a couple of drinks then Trudi (now his wife, congrats Bob!) picked us up and drove us there. On the way I noticed some pretty overcast looking clouds and the fact that the back of the ticket said "We play rain or shine." Knowing what Auckland's weather was like I was getting pretty grumpy, thinking that the day would be ruined. We got out of the...

Big Day Out Tomorrow!

Submitted by TiM on

I can't wait! And the weather (for once) is ment to be perfect! I've got the day off and I'm all primed and ready! I'm really looking forward to seeing the Foo Fighters. I think I've said all this already. I'm just excited, that's all.

Check out the latest addition to "The Worlds Most Pointless Website(tm)". Over there in the Main Menu you will find the link called Haiku Fun. Free free to add some. I've already written two, and I really think I should be recieving my "Masterful Poet" award any day now.

Last night I cooked the most super mean tasty curry in the history of super mean tasty curries. This one rocked. I used really nice tender meat, lots of curry stuff and a huge stink onion. It was TASTY! I accidently spilt some on the wall and it was so strong the paint started to...

A Test!

Submitted by TiM on

I'm so glad I'm so normal and sane. This test right here just proved it to me. Yup. Nothing wrong my brain.

Now I have to go home and feed the space alien in my closet.

And sharpen my axe.

Remember kiddies, solutions are not the answer.

PS: For those of you who know my mate Dallas, here are a few pictures he's taken with his digital camera. What a cool name for a cat huh?

Did I mention?

That I'm going to the Big Day Out on Friday? Oh, I did? Oh well it can't really hurt to mention it again now can it. I'm very happy.

I've just spent the last 30 minutes tearing my hair out over network problem. It wasn't causing any impact, just one of those things I really wanted to know why it wasn't working. Now I do know. And the reason I missed it? Because I missed one pissy little line of config! Routers are stupid. Or something.

So I'm sitting at work bored while I wait for Emi to come over so we can go into Taka and get something for tea. It's pay day today and I can't be arsed cooking anything.

Speaking of which, I've been getting all healthy this year. Lots of salads and stuff. I am going to try and get rid of my pot belly, cause...

Big Day Out!

I'm going to the Big Day Out on Friday!! My mate Robert (Hereby known as "Bob") rang up just now and said he was going. I organised it with the Boss and he's cool with me taking a day off.

I've never been to a BDO, I can't wait!

Today

Submitted by TiM on

Today I got up at 7am, thought about a cup of tea and rubbed the sleep out of my eyes. Then I had a shower. Then I thought about going to work, but instead decided to have a cup of tea. There was no milk, because I was slack and hadn't brought any. And chunky milk doesn't go well in tea, so there was no milk.

I decided to walk to work, because it didn't look like it'd rain.

I walked 30 metres from my house, it started to rain on me. "Fuck It" I thought, and kept walking. 5 minutes later it stopped raining. This my friends is the power of positive thinking.

I got to work. All hell broke loose and proceeded to do so for most of the rest of the day.

I walked home. I went via the supermarket where I brought lettace and tasty stuff...

I Am Being FORCED To Write This By An Evil Girl

I haven't written in a while and someone is telling me I should update my page. I guess she's right.

I didn't end up going to the cricket yesterday. It looked like a pretty crappy day and I hadn't rung my magical friend to get the tickets. Plus the Bossman (who was going to go with me) had flown back down to Wellington. Having got home at 4am that same morning, I think he did quite a good job to catch his plane.

It was Tony's last day on Friday. Yup, no more Tony, on Tuesday he starts the move down to Napier. Seeya Tony, I'm going to miss you!

We brought him some cool going away presents, a book entitled "Words on Calm" which we pretended the Network Operations Centre had given him (he always used to like to scream abuse at them), plus a nice bottle of wine...

Fuck This

I so want to quit this job.
I was the only person in Auckland today. I had heaps of people hassle me. Not their fault.
Tony is giving me all his work (and rightfully so, but still)
and I had JUST walked out off the office at 6:30 (2 hours on a phone conference before that) when I get rung and asked could I look at something else.

I HATE THIS STUPID PLACE. I am pissed off and super grumpy.

11:20 - To Hot To Sleep.

Submitted by TiM on

It's 11:20pm and it's way to hot to sleep. I'd open up the windows a bit, but then more mozzies that you can imagine will creep in the window and eat me to bits. Plus there's no wind tonight anyway.

So I thought I'd get up and write some wibble on my website. Mostly because it's when I can't sleep that I get in the right frame of mind to type random crap for hours on end, boring the pants off not only you dear readers, but myself when I go back and reread this. Which I often do too, I am really glad I have been keeping this ongoing Journal. It's really happy/sad/funny/pathetic to look back over some of the things I've written about etc. Makes me glad I came to New Zealand, given my inital reservations.

Now I am sounding like that movie me and Emi went to...
