Bad Hair Days

Submitted by TiM on

So as you can see from the story yesterday, I have dyed my hair again. Why? Because I could mostly. The CEO of Telstra was visiting yesterday (Dr Ziggy Switkowski) and I really wanted to say hello to him. But no such luck, I think he avoided us REAL workers on the 1st Floor.

Here is a cool link. That's all I have time to say at the moment, I'm at work. More later.

PARTY

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Not sure what selecting 'All' in the language box means, but it looks interesting so I'm giving it a go.

Love the Title desriptions, 'I like eating peas'.... what kind of drongo would actually use that as a topic, I mean, I understand 'Look what came out of my nose' but... 'I like eating peas'??? I'll stick with you on that one Tim, Peas Suck!

Anyway - Back to the topic. Party. This weekend. Saturday. Approx 7pm? not sure really, just when ever you feel like coming over to start drinking, You could help me make some vodka jellies....

I do warn you, do not expect anything like the party we had last year at Simon;s house. All the whacked out weirdo's that were invited will not be there - Namely - Liz, Paul, and those are the only truely weird people I know. No, that has to be wrong...

My Brain Hurts

Hello crazies, how are we this evening? Good? That's good. So am I, I'm doing just smashing thank you very much.

I got my BMX back today. I took it in for repair last week and now it's back and all working again. They didn't do a very good job with the brakes though, the front one works but it's pretty loose and dodgy. At least they didn't charge me very much for the work, probably knowing they hadn't done a very good job. I guess that's what I get for taking it to a lawnmower/bike shop. I mean, they're not really the same thing are they, bikes and lawnmowers. About the only thing in common is they have wheels and you can ride on them. Though it would be cool if bikes had big sharp nasty blades. It'd make all the old grannies get of the footpath pretty quickly...

Food

Submitted by TiM on

There is a foodcourt about 20 minutes from my place. About once a week I got there on the way home for tea. My favourite meal is this one:

Yum Nua Num Thok

Thin sliced grilled beef tossed with fresh lime, mint, cilantro, red onion, ground roasted rice, sliced lemongrass and plenty of Thai Chili.

If anyone has a recipe for how to make that exactly, I'd be most happy. I could ask the lady who makes it at the food court, but I doubt she'd tell me.

This is (not) a NewsFlash!!

Submitted by TiM on

Well, actually, it's not a newsflash at all. I've just had that icon there for a while and wanted to use it, but nothing interesting has come along for me to do so. So I've just decided to use it today anyway.

Well, I am trying once again to give up caffeine. I think this is about the third or fourth time I've attempted this while being in New Zealand. Each time I've slowly got back into the coffee drinking habit. So while I don't expect it'll be any different this time round, at least I'm trying, right?

Saturday night was the first night of work that's gone right in a while. Nothing major fucked up, everything went pretty much according to plan.

We have these roadside cabinets out at Avondale, basically they're a big box on the side of the road, about the size of a full-size pool table...

Wibble!

I still haven't heard back from that email I send to the NZ drivers license place. They said up to 48 hours. It's been longer than that. I'll send a followup email on Monday if I haven't heard anything. I get paid Tuesday, so I think I'll sit my test thingy then. And reregister my car. And stuff.

Saturday morning! I love Saturday morning. Reel Big Fish blasting, sun (sort of) streaming in. Comfy futon. Why can't everyday be as good as Saturday morning?

Thanks Laree for pointing out www.greatboyfriends.com. Now I'd just like to know why I'm not listed on there?? Or maybe I am, I must admit I didn't actually create a login so I could go looking. But I should be there, I have had a few people tell me I'd make a great boyfriend. This, of course, does not explain why I am currently single...

Standing Up or Falling Down?

Submitted by TiM on

I have just got back from tea tonight with Simon Hera and of course Annie! We went to GPK, which is a gourmay pizza resturant. And I've just realised I left what's left of my pizza in Simon and Hera's car. Whoopsie. Sorry guys!

Hera is on her L plates, so after tea they drove me out to Penrose (I had to do a quick bit of work) then all the way home! Thanks Hera!

Work today was a riot. Oh, the happy happy joy joy song was singing loud and clear today at TelstraClear. I really wanted to sing the "I want to farking thump you song" a few times, but that doesn't achieve very much. Well, sometimes it calms me down a bit. But you all know that I AM NOT A FUCKING VIOLENT PERSON and I would never like to BASH SOME PEOPLES SKULLS IN WITH THE...

Goverment Fuckups

First note today, New Zealand had it's first reported case of SARS today. Of course, the media is all over this like a rash. Gettit? Rash. Hahah I'm super funny. Hurt me now.

And the NZ Govt is trying to get everyone to save power because we're going to run out. And the public, by and large, don't really give a flying fook it would seem. I know I am not doing anything different. But then I don't use much electricity anyway. It's a well known fact you don't have to plug me in, I run on beer.

Today I tried to find out about getting my drivers license.

To do this, I need an offical bit of paper that says when my Tasmanian one was issued. Not that hard you'd think to get that little bit of paper. Wrong.

I had to ring Tasmania, who told me they couldn't...

No News Is Good News.

At least that's what they say.

I am much better today than I was yesterday. I am happy, tucked up under my nice warm doona. This doona cost me a shitload (Accidently) but it's the best doona in the world.

The movie "The Croupier" is very good. Rent it one night if you want a good movie to watch.

I have nothing more to say today. I shall try and do something death defying exciting tomorrow for you all, so I can write about it.
