Craptop

Submitted by TiM on

My stupid laptop has decided to crap out totally. The screen works for about 5 seconds then decides to turn off. It's very annoying. It's the only computer I have at home too. Despite being a geekboy, I don't have lots of computers at home. Weird huh? I have an external monitor though which I'm using at the moment.

Thanks to everyone who asked me how my darling mother was doing. She's fine, she got out of hospital today. It was only really minor surgery which is good. Well, no surgery would have been better I guess. Love you mother!

I just finished watching the movie "Series 7". A classic movie, taking the piss out of real life TV.

No flats in the paper today. I looked and rang a few places, but none of them sounded remotely interesting. Maybe next weekend.

That's all. I was going to write a...

Poor Mother!

Submitted by TiM on

I woke up this morning and read my email. Only to find out my darling mother is in hospital. She's getting operated on sometime today. It's nothing major though, thankfully!

That was a bit of a shock email to wake up to though.

Get well soon Mother Dearest!

I wen to Simon and Hera's for tea last night... Thanks guys it was fantastic as usual.

Not much else worthy to talk about, so I'll get back to work.

So, The Last Few Days

Submitted by TiM on

It's been an interesting few days! Finally I managed to get out of Auckland yesterday, even if it was only for 24 hours or so. I'm really glad I got some time to go away and do nothing, just do what I felt like when I felt like it. In the end the decision to go to Taupo instead of up North towards Paihia was based on a coin toss 5 minutes before leaving. Much more fun if you don't really think too much about what you're doing.

First I guess I should blabber about Saturday night. I was all ready to work from home because there really wasn't much that I needed to do this time round. But about 11pm I got an email from our automated alarm thingy telling me that one of our major uplinks to the rest of the world (ie the router that feeds us...

Flatmates Wanted

Submitted by TiM on

I went through all the "Flatmate Wanted" ads today to see if I could find myself a new place to live. I went to go and look at one place which sounded perfect, very close to my current location, 3 dogs living there. I went round to visit and the flatmates were really cool too... But the room was way to small. Which is a shame. I have all the time in the world to find a new place though, so I'm not going to settle until I really have found a perfect place.

I left messages with a few others, but haven't heard back. There really aren't many advertisements for this area, most of the adverts are from places on the other side of the shore. Prehaps the Northcote area is too stuckup to have flatmates? :)

Finally got hold of my landlord today. She'd forgotten to call me...

I Love Fridays!

Submitted by TiM on

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Friday is the best day of the week. You have the weekend to look forward too, usually beers after work. Plus everyone is usually in a good mood, because it's Friday. It's a win win situation. Unless you get run over by a truck.

Matt and Dave went through McDonalds for me today to get me some more muppets. Here's a photo of my muppet collection from the dodgy work cam. Now I have Sam Eagle, Fozzie Bear, The Swedish Chef and of course Animal! Animal is still my favourite. I really want a beaker though, he's a legend.

Last night I went out and meet up with my friend Brenda. She's Chinese, that's her english name. I finally got the hang of saying her Chinese name without her wanting to thump me, but I don't think I'll ever master the...

You will be a winner today! Pick a fight with a 4 year old

My landlord is slack. She still hasn't called back after the two messages I left on her cellphone about the busted alarm. I left my mobile number both times too, so she can't use the "I don't have your number" excuse like she's used before (although that was valid, TelstraClear had changed all our mobile number for the 3rd time)

I'm going to ring her at her office later today. I don't care that the alarm doesn't work, but I DO care that she can't even be bothered calling me back to acknowledge the fact it needs fixing.

While I'm in a pissed off mood, yesterday I go so mad with this stupid company I work for. We have all these fantastic processes, designed to make things easier for us. What a bunch of shit. I wanted to get into a building yesterday where we house some of our equipment...

Alarms of UnHappiness

Submitted by TiM on

Last night at 10:30pm the alarm in my unit started screaming its tits off. I have no idea why, I never ever set the thing. I just heard this werid little sound of something electrical failing, then the alarm started screaming very loudly. I went to the alarm panel but all its lights had gone out. Obviously whatever powers the alarm system had shat itself. I rang up the alarm company. They promised to "get someone to call me soon." Fuck that I thought and got out the scissors and cut the wires on the siren. That shut the fucker up pretty damn quick. I rang the landlord and left a message for her, hopefully she'll organise someone to come by and fix the thing. Not that I use it anyway.

McDonalds have a promotion on where you buy something and you can get little muppet figures for $1.95. I...

Rollin'

I just got back from a nice long drive that had totally no point at all. Back when I was in Hobart I used to take my old car (The Fluff Mobile, long may it live!) for drives all the time. Mostly because it was lots of fun to drive and went really fast. Not so my current car, it is neither fast nor fun. Tonight I just felt like going for a drive for the sake of it. Also gave me a chance to listen to my new Pearl Jam CD.

One of my friends from ICQ came up to Auckland this weekend and needed a place to stay, so I offered her the spare room here. Not really very comfy to sleep on couch cushions, but I hardly saw much of her anyway the party animal! She bought (Denny: I spelt it correctly!) me one of the Pearl...

Hola Mofos

I know it's been a while since I rapped at ya, sorry about that.

Ok, so that has to be the worst opening sentence ever for one of my diary entries. That's why I did it. I haven't posted anything over the last few days because I don't really have anything interesting to tell you sorry. And I don't really have anything interesting to say now, so I'm going again. Maybe tonight space aliens will invade, and I can write about that in detail tomorrow. Who knows?
