Birthday and Weekend

Submitted by TiM on

I had a great Birthday on Friday, thanks everyone who wrote/rang me, much appreciated. I'm really busy at work today so I'll write something later on tonight in a bit more detail. But yes, the Beast made it down to Taupo and back again, thus making it the third time it's done that. I was pretty amazed, especially with all the rain and terrible traffic on the way there (and the way back)

Anyway, back to work, more later tonight.

Rise Of The Machines

People have been complaining that I've been getting slack in updating once again. In response to those people I would like to issue the following public statement:

"Bite Me"

Thank you.

Tuesday night I went out for Dinner with some guys from Wellington, the Boss and the Bosses Boss! Sounds pretty scary but he was actually just as cool as the bossman is and we had a great time. We went to Sago which I think I've mentioned a few times before, it's the most fantastic place to eat in Takapuna. For Entree I had kangaroo. Not sure if I've ever had Kangaroo before, but if I have I don't remember it. Skippy was pretty tasty though, but not as good as the large hunk of dead cow they brought out for mains. Mmmm.

Tuesday night/Wednesday morning I got a terrible sleep, because my phone kept getting text messages from...

Early Morning Ra Ra Ra!

Submitted by TiM on

I got woken at 5:30am this morning by a panicking guy from Hong Kong (they provide us with Internet Connectivity) telling me that all our network sessions were down. If this had been true this would have been a really bad thing. I bolted out of bed and down to the computer to look at the problem. What problem? Stupid little man forgot to inform me that it was only one session that was down, not all of them. Muppet man. No getting back to sleep after that adrenaline rush though.

So I stayed up and drank coffee and played silly buggers on the network. Then I ended up driving Gary to work, because he's going out on the piss tonight with his boss (funny, I'm going out for some beers with my boss tonight too)

I got totally lost after I dropped him off and it took me a...

Work

Submitted by TiM on

Back to full on work mode today... and I can't be arsed. I'm sitting at home on the couch, it's wet and miserable outside (so I can't walk to work, typical Auckland) and the two coffee's I've had don't seem to have kicked in.

Maybe I should just get a knife and make the other lung collapse? Then I can bludge off work for another week! Or maybe not.

As my favourite mug of all time says, Fuck Mondays and Fuck It!

Friend Only Stories

Submitted by TiM on

One of the really cool things I love about LiveJournal is the fact that you can post stories and make them public, friend only or private. The annoying thing about my website has been I've always had to make stuff either public (anyone in the world can read stuff) or private (only I can read them), I've never had the option of allowing close friends to read stuff while the general public can't...

Now I do! After a bit of stuffing around today I've set my site up so I now have the ability to post stories that only logged in users who are marked as friends can see, just like LiveJournal. I probably won't use it very often, there's not often stuff I want to write about that's private, but sometimes there is.

So, if you haven't created an account yet, go create one. Most of you already have...

Hey Party Animals! I hope you've all been out partying it up and going flat out like I have. I've been trying like mad to snap my stupid lung again but it seems to be pretty sure it doesn't want to snap, which I guess is probably a good thing!

I went back to work today, there was a big Get Well basket waiting for me from Ericsson, they're one of our vendors and they obviously love me lots and lots. It had a big balloon on top and beers and Ralph mag (though Sarah had already bought me this while I was in hospital) fruit, cheese, chocolates and biscuits. Quite a score really, I must remember to bust myself up more often.

Today got up at about 9am then ambled on down to the local cafe to get myself a tasty breakfast. It was quite nice to sit in...

My Stupid Damn Feking Lung - The Slack Bastard.

Submitted by TiM on

So I woke up last Wednesday and remembered I had to go into work late, because I wanted to pay my car registration before I went, because it was overdue and my crappy car was illegal. It seems like it's spent more of it's time while I've owned it in an illegal state, or at least in state where I'm not allowed to legally drive it.

Anyway, so just as I'm leaving I go to put on my shoes. This requires me sitting on my bed to do, and while sitting down I coughed. As I did I thought "Wow, feels like I've got a deep chest infection"

As I got into my car it got really bad, I thought that someone had stabbed me in the right lung. Ouch. So I drove down to the post office to pay the rego, but got there and realised I'd left my...

I'm Alive!

Submitted by TiM on

After sitting down on my bed and making my stupid lung collapse, I've managed to get out of hospital after 5 days of sitting around with a stupid tube thing hanging out of me. Here's a photo of me with my tubie thing in me, but you can't really see that much.

Anyway, just thought I'd let you know I'm out of hospital and I'm fine. I'll post something more later when I can be arsed. Thanks Rob Fleming for the most amusing post/attempt at spelling that I've seen in a long time. Cheers.

The Incident With The Bourbon And The Teacups.

What a busy weekend it's been, sorry I haven't updated since Thursday. I'm just a lazy mofo.

Thursday I bogged off work nice and early (3pm) so that I could go home and drop my bags and other work crap off, then go out to the airport to pick my friend Sarah up. Her plane flew in at 5:30pm which is a pretty bad time in Auckland because of all the traffic, but I managed to get out there on time. We left there about 6pm, dropped Sarah's bags off at TelstraClear Penrose (quicker than going to Sunnynook and back) went and grabbed a kebab then went to the Coldplay concert.

Coldplay were great! It started off really slow and mellow and it was also impossible pretty much to see the band due to it being standing room only and the stage being so low to the ground. After they...
