Whoopsie

Funny how updating this site gets away from me!

Sunday we managed to move all of Sarah's stuff to her new apartment, John was kind enough to lend us his car (with the towball) so I could go and hire a damn massive horsefloat trailer thingy. It was so huge I couldn't even get it around the corner at the top of our drive which made loading up a bit of a pain. We still managed to do it though, then drove on down to my storage locker and retrieved my fridge and my furniture and loaded that up as well.

Driving John's car over the bridge in the wind and the rain was a lot of excitement, driving through town was even worse because John's car is front wheel drive. When you've got a huge heavy trailer on the back and you're taking off from a red light up...

Hi Rain, Haven't See You Here Before, Come Here Often?

Submitted by TiM on

Damn rain. We won't be moving any of Sarah's stuff today (or not much anyway) because it's a howling gale and rainstorm at the moment. It's really horrible outside and it's been like that since about 7pm last night. It's like the weathers knows when everyone's time off is and pisses down just to annoy us. It's really bad today though, it's been very dangerous on the roads and news reports have said large parts of South Auckland have been without power for a while. Bugger!

In other exciting news, the rest of the chillies have germinated! Some were buried a bit too far down so we removed some of the crap off them to give them more of a chance to break free unto the sunlight. Or something poetic like that anyway, you all know what I mean. Go chillies!

Oh yea, Sarah's new apartment is really nice. I...

It's So Exciting!!

Submitted by TiM on

Last weekend Sarah and I planted the Chilli seeds that she gave me for Christmas into the very cool little pots that she also gave me. Yesterday night we looked at them and realised that one of them has started to germinate and grow! It's all very exciting, chillies rule!

Tomorrow I will be helping Sarah to move out of my grubby old apartment and into her flash new warehouse style one in Mt Eden. We went and had a look at it last night (just the outside) and it looks really nice! As an added advantage it's also close to a favourite pub of mine (The Horse and Trap, they have Montheiths on tap) so I think I'll be staying at her place on weekends.

We've got to start advertising for another flatmate too, so there'll be an ad in the paper tomorrow advertising for a flatmate. Hopefully we'll...

Dentist

Submitted by TiM on

I haven't been to the Dentist in about 7 years or so, might be longer. I think 7 years sounds about right though, I know last time I went they crapped on about needing X-Rays to make sure something was "Ok" and I forgot to go back to ever get them. Teeth don't seem to have fallen out or anything though. Except now I think I have a big nasty widsom tooth coming through, so I probably should go. What do you think?

In other news I hear that two TelstraClear Account Managers had a big punch up in front of the customers at the NZ Cricket the other day. I can't find any media report about it or anything, but I'm assured it happened by a number of people. I'm also told that those two employees aren't with us anymore. So sad, we need more of that type of...

Refrigerated Chalk Board

Werid, I just got a message on my Voicemail at work that was about 10 seconds of funky music, some static then it hungup. Who rings people to music at them? Odd.

Last night I went into town to pick Sarah up (She's been at a Vodafone brainwashing conference for the last two days) and we ended up going to La Porcetta for dinner with two of her friends from Voda. We had a nice meal but it's mostly memorable because of what Ricki (hope I spelt that right) said about Sarah and Cas and the fact they are currently in a relationship. I can't remember the exact quote but it was very funny, he ment one thing but came out with the mostly highly offensive thing. We all realised what he ment though and spent a good 10 minutes laughing at his comment.

We then spent another ages talking...

Being A Freak Has Some Good Points!

Submitted by TiM on

Hello everyone, I hope you like my new little Freak icon there. I think pretty much everything I ever post could use that icon, but I only just installed it today.

Yesterday Sarah and I went down to the Devonport Food and Wine festival. It was a bit of a ripoff, $20 a head to get in and all that got you was a free wine glass. Considering that I really can't stand the stuff (When are they going to have a beer and curry festival??) there wasn't much point giving me a glass.

We sat down in front of the main stage just as the music ended and while they were changing bands they had some dickhead DJs from a local radio station running around giving out prizes. They'd already given me shit because of my blue hair, so when they called out "Who's wearing red nail polish" I...

Ubus

Hello rampant beanbag eaters, how are we all today?

I've had a most slack day today, all morning I drank coffee and stuffed around, played Tony Hawk and lay in bed! Very slack and most enjoyable and relaxing.

Sarah has been up and about online, looking at flats and houses, trying to find a nice place to live. It really is a mission to find a good place in Auckland, when I spoke to her on the phone before she said she'd found the most excellent of places, but it had already been rented by some other bastard 15 minutes earlier. I hope that place burns down!

I spend the afternoon out at the SPCA, it's been ages since I've been out there and it was good to see everyone again. There were some really nice dogs to walk too, I love it when I go out there and get...

Things Go Boom!

Submitted by TiM on

I was just getting off to sleep last night when my phone got a text message. "Oh" I thought, "That'll be from Sarah!"

But no, it was from the automated logging system, happily texting me to tell me it'd noticed Very Bad Things(tm) happening. So I lept out of bed and rang a few people, tried to log onto the network from home until I realised that it was never going to work seeing as Paradise (my ADSL connection) had just gone away with the card crash. So I jumped in the trusty steed and flew into town where the sad unhappy switch was and myself and Dave put a shiny bright full-of-love card into it and made it happy again.

40 minutes from woe to go, not bad running!

Another war story from the action packed(*) adventures of Tim.

Poor New Zealand

Submitted by TiM on

Firstly, I'm not taking the piss today. NZ has been ravaged by terrible weather and flood and lots of poor people have been cut off or had their houses and lives ruined! I hadn't really realised how bad it was because I'm not really a big fan of the news, but Dad rang me up this morning and I logged onto a few Kiwi news sites to read about it. There's been all sorts of bad things happen around the place (thankfully not in Auckland, the weather hasn't been too bad here) so I hope it gets better for all the people down south fairly soon! People at work have been emailing pictures of various places that have been hit by the water and it's pretty nasty.

Anyway, happier news! Congratulations to my mate Dallas who scored himself a job in Melbourne yesterday! Hope it goes really well for you...

StuartStuart, we love you.

A little spam message slipped through my most-excellent spam filter today. Usually I just put them in the spam folder and teach the filter that it fucked up. Today's email though was classic. I won't bother to reproduce it here, the email itself is actually quite boring. It's from a person/company called StuartStuart and ol' Stewie (I'm sure he'll let me call him that) thinks he's a bit of a muso. He's got himself a little company called ChartSong and he claims to be able to promote you, the stuggling artist, to the dizzy heights of stardom in Australia. So I read bits of the email, mostly crap, then discovered the link to his little site. Prepare yourself for the wonder that is stuartstuart.com.

I haven't laughed so hard in a while. All his pictures are of him, looking like a right spanner. On the frontpage he appears to...
