Cock-A-Doodle-Doo!

Submitted by TiM on

Hello people, today's story title is dedicated to the cool little stuffed toy that Sarah got me that makes that noise (3 times) when you squeeze it's tummy. Just the kind of thing to drive your workmates crazy.

Got my car fixed on Wednesday, not the suspension but the problem it was having with running way to cool. The thermostat was stuck open so the engine was always being cooled. The MR2 has a huge cooling system so the engine was always running cold, which isn't good for it. $130 later and I have a new theromstat and a much happier engine.

Sadly the car stereo has now packed it in. It's been flaky for the last few weeks, it seems now it's totally dead. I'm going to open it up tonight to try and fix it, I don't think it's anything to major.

Now the list of things to...

Proper Easter Report

Submitted by TiM on

Here we go party machines with a proper update for you all to read and fall asleep to.

But first a big huge yell and shout to Travers T who got engaged on Good Friday. That's right people; Travers "I Love My Fan" T is getting married! Congratulations Trav!

Whizzing back to Friday morning... We got up, packed up everything, took a quick trip to the Dr's to get Sarah some more Ventolin then drove over to Mike and Cass' place to pick them up. They were somewhat saddened to see exactly how small the back of Sarah's car was, but they'd brought pillows with them to try and cushion the pain. With everything packed into the back of the CRX, we set off towards Rotorua...

So it seems had the rest of the Auckland population, every man and his dog was on the road South. We thought...

Happy Easter!

Hi everyone, hope you're having a good Easter!

Sarah and I just got back from Rotorua last night, we spent Friday and Saturday down there with a couple of Sarah's Friends Mike and Cass. We had a great time, we did all the crazy things that there are to do down there (well, a lot of them)

I'll write a better update later on, just thought I'd say Hi and wish everyone Happy Easter!

A Rant

So I'm on the way over to Sarah's last night and the new sexy beast needs some petrol, because it's dead out and the light is coming on.

I usually go to the BP about 5 minutes from my house, not only do they have Ultimate Petrol (98 Octane Go Fast Juice!) but they also earn me AA Rewards points. Why I care about this I'm not sure, I frikking HATE reward programs. But anyway. So I drive into the BP and instantly get pissed off because all the fuel pumps are full, apart from one which is on the wrong side for my petrol cap. But bugger it, I take that lane anyway and just pull up really close to the pump. I get out and try in vain (as usual) to open my petrol cap.

The petrol cap itself is fine, it's the little metal door that covers...

Hi there groovers, hope you're all doing well. I haven't updated you on the state of the Chillis in the last few postings, but fear not because they are growing along quite nicely. I really need to get them out of their pots though and put them into bigger pots, because they have stopped shooting up at the massive rate that they were. They are going to be super tasty though!

I was just leaving work tonight when one of our major routers crashed. "Bugger" thought I as the boss called, commanding me to drive into town to look at it (can your boss do that? I guess so) Thankfully after sitting in traffic for 10 minutes I got a phonecall telling me that I could turn around and go home, it had rebooted itself. Which was a bonus really (not for our customers though) because it ment I didn't...

Car Shopping: "You're Making The Worst Decision Of Your LIFE!"

Submitted by TiM on

Sarah's sister Holly came up to Auckland for the weekend to go car shopping. At 10:30am she was buzzing on Sarah's apartment door asking to be let in. Damnit, I was trying to get some sleep! Though I guess 10:30am isn't really a resepectable time to be sleeping in on the weekend... Anyway I dragged myself out of bed (proudly wearing my "We Like Tha Moon" T-Shirt which arrived on Friday!) and poured some coffee down my throat, ready to go and assult all the used car dealers wanting to sell Holly dodgy rust buckets.

The 2 of us piled into Sarah's car (this is the problem with an MR2. It's a two seater and that's it) and drove off down towards Penrose, where the lower end of the car market is. We looked at a couple of cars in Greenlane but there was nothing that really...

Me? Being Nasty To People? Never!

Hello groovers, hope you'll all well and haven't fallen in any bear traps. Or gone to see the movie "Monster" like I did last night with Sarah and a couple of her workmates. I wanted to get up and leave it was that horrible and depressing. Matt who was with us did actually get up and leave. The Sarah and Cass though didn't see why we wanted to leave, they enjoyed the movie, even though it was hard to watch in places. The movie is about a hooker who is about to kill herself, but then finds this girl to be her friend and then they fall in love. But Ms Hooker gets attacked one night while hooking and kills the man who attacked her. Rinse, repeat to morbid ending. There is nothing happy about this movie, it's very dark deep and complex. It wouldn't be fair to say I...

Post It Notes

Another slacker bit by me, no updates in a while. Maybe I shouldn't bother writing this anymore, it's been fun but it's kinda pointless these days. Oh wait, it never had a point i the first place.

What a busy few days it's been anyway, though I'm sure that doesn't come as a suprise to anyone. Saturday Sarah and I did a bit of furniture shopping around the place, she needed to get herself a bedside table for her room. We ended up trooping around Newmarket and then Mt Eden, she eventually found herself a nice one that wasn't too expensive from Target Furniture. The same place I got all my really cheap and nasty (and therefore fantastic) furniture from.

Apart from that didn't do much else with my weekend, Sunday night we went to the movies and watched some movie with Julia Roberts in it. She's a schoolteacher and...

Yes Tim, it is quite boring.

And I'm SO bored at home sick wth this virus (it's a REAL virus this time, not a Sunday morning one), but it's given me a chance to do some washing at least. My weekends seem to get zapped by washing and cleaning, so at least that's done. Living in an apartment like this is quite good for cleaning, you pretty much just vacuum, throw water around and then mop it up. Good as new.

Anyway I thought I'd write some stuff, tell you all how everything has been going for me since I moved up to this crazy city!

And it IS crazy.

The job is really good, im handling it really well, better than I thought I would, considering it's my first real job and all. My first placement is with a group called Managed Services, which takes care of enterprise customers' service needs. I'm managing a project...

Not So Happy!

Damn cars. I took my car to Pedders today to see what was making all the nasty clunking noises. Bad move. The nasty clunking noises are going to cost over $1000 to fix, stupid muppety car. All 4 shock absorbers are all making the nasty clunking noise, no wonder I couldn't figure out if it was coming from the front or the back. And there are a few others thing that are wrong with it too. Nothing major, in fact I could keep driving it for another 6 months and it'd be ok. But I'm going to have to save up and get it fixed, I don't like driving around while things, vital things, are clunking and groaning and generally unhappy.

Speaking of which, poor Sarah is generally unhappy at the moment, she's got a really nasty virus that's making her really tired and sore. She's been home for the...
