Armchair Shortland St Manic

Submitted by TiM on

I'm sitting on the couch while Sarah lies on her beanbag watching Shortland St. They just said "revenge bonk", this show is so amusing. Sarah looks very hot in her PJs and little beanbag bootie things. We just had a delish dinner of KFC and umm, well KFC is pretty yummo. It's Monday and we're feeling lazy. Oh no! Victor has been arrested for Murder on Shortland St. And Vinnie has no clue about anything, what a muppet.

Had a OK weekend, didn't really do much on Saturday because I was feeling really sick. Sarah claims it's the beer I drank on Friday night but I don't think so, I was pretty ill for most of Saturday and a fair bit of Sunday too. Sunday was a lot better though, we went shopping out at Westgate and mucked around out there for ages. Looking at furniture and crazy arty farty...

Glen! Glen Glen Glen!

One of the funniest things I've seen in a while. A StarBucks ad featuring Survivor singing a redo of their song "Eye Of The Tiger" Download and watch it by clicking here. It's a 5meg file so it'll probably take a little while to download.

I wish there was a Tim! version. Maybe I'll just change my name to Glen.

Poor Sarah is back at work today after 2 days off with the evil illness. Poor girl, I spent half of yesterday at her place looking after her (well, in between working). Good that she's ok today, in fact her rather large beanbag arrived here at work today, I've just taken it home. Massive damn thing, would hardly fit in the car!

Other exciting things... I have a whole month of leave! Starting on the 26th of this month and finishing on the 20th of August! How good is...

Newspaper People With Teeth!

Hi people, how are you all? I hope you're well unlike poor Sarah who is at home sick today. I'd be there to look after her but I've got a bunch of work I have to get done today otherwise I'll end up in a lot of trouble. Poor Sarah though, I hope she's feeling better soon.

It was a fairly busy weekend, Saturday I went out to the SPCA and did the "walk the doggies" thing. I worked in a different area this time around and I didn't really like it much, the lady who runs the area rules it with an iron fist. It's more like reporting to work rather than feeling like you're having any fun. Regardless of that I still had an OK time, I just stood up for myself and mentioned that I wasn't 3 years old anymore.

That's it for this time, I'll finish...

Friday Night And The Birds Aren't Chirping At All.

Submitted by TiM on

But they wouldn't be, would they? Birds don't chirp at night - duh.

So anyway, it's Friday and they're the best days of the week. Today was especially fine, I didn't have too much work to do and I got to have a bit of a heated yell and scream at some people. Wonderful stuff. Not really yelling and screaming, but some quite heated discussion about some business stuff. I don't think I should really post what exactly what it was about, suffice to say the company is trying to do something terminally stupid and we're (my group) trying to show them that it doesn't make economical sense, nor does it make any sense unless we want to fully piss out customers off. I am however just a lowly technician who's opinion probably doesn't mean squat... They can't say I didn't at least try though.

Speaking of trying (lame tie-in...

Who Snapped The Network?

Submitted by TiM on

It's time for sleeping! Weekend was totally crazy, Saturday night I did the maintence window, that lasted until 6am or so Sunday morning. Sunday afternoon I got up, changed the oil in my car then got called back into work to look at network weirdness. Left work about 7pm, went to Sarah's, got called back into work about 11:30pm to look at more network oddness. Got to bed about 7am on Monday morning.

Turns out the new version of code we'd rolled out onto the network had a major bug in it, what exactly it is we're still not too sure (we've got it open with the Vendor)

It's a real dissapointment when stuff like this happens, we spent ages testing the new code. We rolled it out in a few smaller places first of all to test it'd be OK, triple checked with the vendor to make sure it...

Rark It Up (Funerals Suck)

Bit of wibble about the last few days...

Tuesday morning I got up bright and early (which was hard, due to not getting to bed until 1am because of work stuff! Rage!) and tried to fit into my suit. Damn. I have turned into a huge elephant, I could only really just squeeze into it. Because of this I have now promised myself no more beer/junk food until I'm not quite so big anymore! Rage against Man Boobs!

Anyway, on with the story...

Andrew's funeral was at 10:30 so about 10am we left work and drove out to where it was. Fek it was so cold, we all stood outside the church before the service shivering to bits and it wasn't any better inside! Totally freezing cold.

I had to really control my body to stop the visible shivering and trembling that my body wanted to do! SO DAMN COLD...

A long one as promised.

Another late night at work, poor me! I'm not really bothered though, there's lots of stuff to do and I'll be doing no work tomorrow due to going to Andrew's funeral. I've got to see if my suit even fits me anymore, last time I wore it was Simon and Hera's wedding and it was a bit tight around the middle then as I recall. Now it will be fairly bursting. Of course, I have no one to blame for his but myself.

I had a great time down in Napier as you probably gathered from my previous post! It's so nice to get away from the craziness that is Auckland. People are friendly in Napier, there's hardly any traffic and there's lots of great roads to go driving on. I had to best time blasting around in my car on all the windy roads and hills, so much...

Hi There!

Yes I'm still alive, sorry I haven't written for a while. I had a busy as time down in Napier, I got back on Thursday night. Friday at work we got some bad news and the weekend has been a bit of a blur too! I'll write more about it tomorrow, I can't be arsed now. Stay tuned loyal reader(s).

Quickie Update

Submitted by TiM on

Hey Groovers! Still having a good time in Napier even though I had to wave goodbye to Sarah yesterday. I've been working flat out today and it'll be full on tomorrow too, now however I'm about to go out and have a few beers with my good mate (and ex workmate) Tony.
Here are some very poser pictures taken today, it's in support of that TUANZ Network Support Award thingy I was telling you guys about, they needs photos and my life story for their submission. Anyway, enough about how great I am, I'm off for a beer.

Oh yea, I managed to download the Audio to that Reel Big Fish DVD I stuffed the order up on. So at least I can listen to them on my iPod until the proper DVD arrives.
