Stuff All!

Submitted by TiM on

Stuff all to report today. I rang up yesterday and got some much better car insurance for the MR2. The crash excess is only $250 and theft is $500. The people I was with before were more expensive for the policy and a flat $1000 excess, regardless of claim reason. I'm very happy now, I have insurance from a much bigger well known company at a better rate.

And I'm happy about car insurance, how old am I?

Chirpus is well, he's getting much less timid of hands/fingers now. Still won't quite hop on our finger but will allow us to stroke him (if only for a second) and will eat out of our hands quite happily. No major news with the dumb cat, except for I trod in one of its turds on the carpet last night. In bare feet. Erk.

Work is good, I've had a couple of...

Flush The Moggie Down The Toilet

Hello groovers, I hope you all had as good a weekend as I did.

Friday night I went out with my old workmate Aaron and a bunch of people from work. We all planned the best way for TelstraClear to make a huge profit and take over the world. I suspect most of us forgot it come Saturday morning though, I know I was a little hazy on the details. A nice cup of tea and some guitar playing on the deck of Sarah's new house, along with Oscar Doo chirping soon fixed me up, just as my old friend Damien rang me. Dr Damo's currently based in Hamilton, working at the hospital there but he decided to come down to Sunny Auckland (and it was, all weekend) with his wife Eve for the weekend.

We had a really good time, Saturday afternoon we took the Ferry over to Devonport...

Poor Sarah!

Poor Sarah got bitten by a whitetail spider on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. We woke up and she had this horrible red mark on her, it got worse during the day so we went to the Dr at night and the Dr said it was most probably a white tail spider bite and to keep an eye on it. Stupid spider, I wish it had bitten me instead.

Hopefully the swelling etc will go down today, it's such a nasty bite. Poor girl.

Not much else to tell you, it's 5:30am at the moment and I've just finished the final bit of build for a customer cutover this morning. I don't mind these early morning jobs too much, means that there's bugger all traffic on the roads coming to work. For some reason this morning on my way to work I suddenly thought to myself "Shit, what's my door code?" and...

Moving Day.

Submitted by TiM on

Got up nice and early on Saturday morning for the big move. Of course it was raining, as it had been the night before when we moved a little bit of stuff. I didn't let that stop us though, by about 9am I'd already moved two full carloads (Sarah's car, not mine!) around to the new place without falling down the stairs and killing myself.

Sarah's new flatmates had hired a big horse float, they came around about 10am to load up all Sarah's stuff, which we did in very good time I think. It took two trips all up, my skody old couches and my fridge had to wait until trip number two! Someone had too much stuff I think!

Anyway, by about 12:30 Sarah and her flatmates were all moved in pretty much, a pretty good speed record! We did have Kelly's parents helping us too though which...

So Close To The Fame!

Hello space mutants, hope you're all well and not dead like those people who's heads keep falling off in Iraq. Nasty business that.

It's been a good week, Tuesday night we went to the rehersals of the New Zealand Music Awards, Sarah managed to get tickets from her work. It was pretty neat too, one of the bands I really like (Elemeno P) played, as well as a whole bunch of other NZ bands. Which basically means HipHop shit. But anyway, it was a good night, I had to get up and pretend to be various presenters, none of whom I knew. They couldn't have picked a worse person for the job really, someone who doesn't watch any TV, I didn't have a clue who all these famous people were. I had a great time, though poor Sarah was so embarassed I think she wanted to die. No shame.

Stink Miggas!

Hello, I'm back from Taupo now. What a lot of fun and frivolity it was. Plus lots of debating, thinking, food, badgers, congnac, high speed driving and beer. Some of those things were mixed, some of those things weren't.

I drove down on Wednesday afternoon after a morning on the phone trying to sort little things out at work. Taupo's about a 3.5 hour drive from Auckland, I arrived there right on 5pm, just in time for a beer with some of the other guys who'd been playing golf all day. Soon more and more people arrived and before we knew it we had a regular party going. We had about 5 different people from our vendors there, plus a bunch of other people that I didn't really know too well.

It was a crazy night anyway, way too many congnacs were consumed by everyone there, the total of the...

Back In Black

Submitted by TiM on

We drove down to Napier on Friday night, it was pretty late when we left (about 8pm) so there wasn't too much traffic on the roads. Thankfully this time we had tunes to listen to, I did the driving and Sarah did the iPod DJing. We eventually made it into Napier about 1:30am or so and crashed out straight away.

When we got out of bed at 10am the next morning it was a lovely Napier day, sunny and warm without much wind. It was Holly's party that night though, so we spent the day helping get everything ready. We went and bought a picture frame for everyone to sign at the party, plus lots and lots of beer. I bought myself a tattslotto scratchie and thought I'd won myself a huge $8 but it was only $4. Seeing as the ticket cost me $3 I didn't really end up...

Weekend Away

Submitted by TiM on

Hello Crazies! We're going down to Napier for the weekend, it's Holly's (Sarah's Sister) 21st birthday so we have to be there for that. I even have to take some decent clothes and some nice shoes. Scary! We'll have a good time though, we're driving down late tonight to try and avoid all the traffic. I love Naiper, so it'll be nice to spend the weekend there.

Poor Chirpus will be left all alone for 2 days... We're going to miss him! We'll make sure he's got lots of clean water and food before we go, so I'm sure he'll be ok! Poor Oscar though! He's going really well, he'll almost eat out of my hand now, though he's still quite timid if I put my hand in the cage. He still loves to chirp as loudly as possible and he runs around like a mad demon sometimes, he's so...
