Screaming At Telstra

Submitted by TiM on

Far out, I got asked to call a poor girl AT HOME tonight for something she wasn't even involved in, not even a TelstraClear employee. I'm not going to flesh it out here because this isn't my personal venting site, but fek burgers. I had 3 20 minutes conference calls with a very angry Irish Lady. Not a customer, a Telstra person. She was just doing her job (and doing it so well it was scary) but it was still very frustrating. Then my manager stepped in and had a work with her manager and suddenly the sun was shining and the birds were chirping. I'm so often reminded why I left TelstraCorp and tonight was no exception.

Whizzing back to Saturday night, I forgot to mention how all the girls were sitting out on the deck when Sarah yelled out "Tim, you HAVE to come and see this!" I...

Chirp!

Hello everyone my name is Oscar (aka Chirpus) and I'm the crazy lovebird owned by Tim and Sarah.

On Sunday I was allowed out of my cage for another big fly around, but what Tim and Sarah didn't know though was even though one of my wings is clipped, I have learnt to fly very well regardless.

I don't fly around in circles, I can power around without hinderance! Including up the top of Sarah's room where I know they can't reach me!

There I sat all morning and all afternoon, happily chirping away to myself and pooing on things, while all Sarah and Tim could do was look on throwing bits of tissue at me. I'm very good at dodging them though, ha!

Even them going out and leaving me, while they bought me new seed and toys didn't make me come down.

Eventually, obviously...

Because I'm too lazy to write something original!

Things are good here, we went to Big Boys Toys on the weekend, lots of very cool things to look at and wish that I owned. Ferraris and other nice toys, big loud car stereos etc. Sarah didn't mind it too much either, she was especially happy when we found the "Girls Zone" they'd setup.

Weather has been really good all last week, nice warm and sunny. I washed my car on Saturday morning so of course the rest of the weekend it spat and drizelled until last night when there was huge thunderclaps and lighting flashes. Now that my car is all muddy and shitus again it'll be a beautiful warm week.

Can't believe how close Christmas is all of a sudden, Vodafone Xmas party is this Saturday, I have to get a "pimp" costume all sorted out for it, the...

Not Much

Hi people, nothing really to tell you. We let Oscar out for his first fly around the other night since having his wings clipped, it was so much fun. He didn't even really try to fly very much, he seems lot tamer now. We were able to have him on our finger and on our arms, even on our head running around like a crazy.

Work is going well, I got a good project today to sink my teeth into, I've been lacking that the last month or so, now I have something to work on that's quite challenging. I've just been doing customer work and little bits here and there, nothing that really makes my brain tick though.

Auckland has had really nice weather all week, sunny and humid as hell. Today's no exception, it's quite sticky and erk. Still, 1000% times better than shitty rain all the time...

Monday Meltdown

Got to work this morning and the aircon wasn't working, it was boiling hot, impossilbe to work kind of heat. A lot of people were talking about leaving for the day, I was thinking of doing the same until they fixed it. Still took quite a while for the heat to go away, but it did so we all had to work as per usual. Bugger!

Yesterday was a lovely day, nice and sunny and perfect for going to the beach. So we did! I met Sarah at Takapuna beach at 5pm and we sat in the sun for a couple of hours, then went over to Sarah's place where she cooked a most beautiful tea. Big hunks of steak (rump), corn on the cob (which I thought I hated but was actually quite nice) and other lusho things.

My dinner tonight was almost as nice, I power walked myself...

Chirpus, Fireworks And Hunting The Moggie

We took Oscar in to get his wings clipped on Friday night, poor ol' Oscar doo! We boxed him up in a nice little box with some airholes and walked him down to the vet (thankfully the vet is a 2 minute walk from Sarah's house)

The vet had a look at him and said he looked very good and healthy, then threw a towel over him so we could extract him from the box and clip his wings. Well, we thought it was going to be his wings but it just turned out to be one wing that recieved the treatment. I had to hold his wing while the vet did the clipping. Oscar was not at all happy about proceedings, squarking and clucking and being generally unhappy. It was over quickly though and he was placed back in his box. The vet guy was really nice, he took...

Thanks heaps to my good friend who knows who he is for sending me these today.

In other news, Chirpus is going in tonight for a major operation, he's having his wings clipped so we can let him fly around without being impossible to put back in his cage.

Here is a funny picture for MSN geeks. Or maybe it's just me that finds it amusing.

Do not explode your fingers off tonight peoples!

Hey! That's My Car!

Submitted by TiM on

I was driving into Takapuna at lunch time, when I noticed that I seemed to be being followed by this BMW. The BMW had a custom number plate, so I instantly knew the person was a complete wanker. Then he started to flash his lights at me as I was going around a corner. Assuming he was just a 'tard I ignored him, until I had to pull up at a queue of traffic ahead. BMW man pulls in behind me and gets out of his car, walks up to my window.

"Can you pull over please? I need to talk to you about your car." says Mr BMW man...

Turns out he used to own the car a few years ago, and even werider is that he works here at TelstraClear! He wasn't actually a wanker at all, he was a nice guy. He told me all about how...

Remember This?

Remember this story? I'm not sure if I ever told you, but the beer turned out to be some of the most vile and disgusting stuff you could ever hope to call beer. Rather than beer I now refer to it as vlie-bubonic-death-acid. Because that's what it tastes like.

Friday night is fireworks night! Flames! Explosions! Death! Well, hopefully not too much of the last one, that always makes people sad. I haven't bought anything yet, not sure what we're going to do. Probably just let them off somewhere near Sarah's house, see whos property we can set fire too.

Saturday we might also go to Big Boys Toys, I want to see the big robot dude and all the other cool tech they have. Not so interested in the cars and boats etc, unless they have Hobie Cats.

Bugger all else to tell you, sod off.

Ever Noticed?

Have you ever noticed how when you read something in the media/news these days, about something you have a strong understanding of, how laughable their report it? It's like they only took about 3 seconds to try and understand it, gave up and just wrote something like along the lines of what they think they wanted to hear.
I just realised, if it's this bad for stuff that we do have an understanding off, imagine how badly they're getting their facts and reporting wrong for all the other stories they report that we don't understand. Makes you think, doesn't it?

It was a lovely drive into work today, the sun is shining and AC/DC was cranking very loudly. I have found my new "must play" song if I snuff it, AC/DC's "tribute" to Bon Scott.

I have to go now.
