Training Away The Days

Submitted by TiM on

I've been training for the last couple of days, Friday and Saturday. Yes, Saturday. All day in a hotel room with all my other workmates learning about stuff we already know but on a different platform. At least the lunch they serve is damn good, we go up to the top floor of the hotel with some excellent views and eat from a mega tasty buffet thing. I have to really remember to control myself and not put on 5 bits of meat and 7 scoops of pasta etc. Then also remember not to take 6 deserts too.

We're all moving out of here on the 19th of April. I'm not 100% sure where I'll be going, I'll probably end up staying with Sarah for a few weeks until other things sort themselves out a bit more.

No training tomorrow, Sunday is a day of rest n all. Poor ol'...

Rollercoaster Rides

Submitted by TiM on

Hello people, if you haven't already then feel free to login and read this here story.

We had a good weekend as already mentioned, Sunday night at the show turned out to be quite a bit of fun, if a little lame. We walked around all the cool photo and art gallery stuff, had some dodgy show food and went on a couple of rides. First we went on this thing that spun around while we flew in and out. You can see how much I was looking forward to this ride from this photo taken a few seconds before it started. Turns out I enjoyed it more than Sarah though, she came off looking very pale and white. I didn't really enjoy it either but I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would.

Then we went on the Ghost Train and boy, these things haven't...

Happy Easter!

Submitted by TiM on

Good morning everyone and Happy Easter to you. I'm sitting on Sarah's deck at the moment in the sun, hoping that it will stay this way for today. We never ended up going to Paihia, the weather report said the whole country would be covered in showers for most of Easter, seeing as we were going to go camping we didn't think that would be the best idea. We seemed proved right when we woke up at 7am on Good Friday with massive thunderclaps and lightening flashes, something we haven't had like this for a while.

Instead on Friday we just took it easy, lazed around enjoying the freedom of not being at work! I took Sarah's scooter for a bit of a blast around the place and then we went and hired a few videos from the local video store and watched one of them. After that to top...

Insurance That Doesn't Suck.

Submitted by TiM on

Don't you just love insurance companies? Well actually, I must say I am damn pleased with my AMI Car Insurance. Sarah had been dealing with some feckturd at Armourguard who was being less than helpful to her, so I thought I'd ring my insurance company in the off chance they might help. I didn't expect them to because Sarah was driving and she's not listed on the policy, buy AMI said that's not a problem as she was not the cause of the accident the car is still fully insured! They're sending me the paper work today and hopefully the car will be getting fixed next week sometime. Nice!

Speaking of Sarah, checkout this really beautiful photo that was taken of her for the Vodafone Graduate Website. There's a blurb that goes with it too but I'm not sure if Sarah wants to me to post it.

No more news...

Action-A-Plenty

Submitted by TiM on

Hi people! It's been an action packed few days, and mostly bad action. First of all, Kelly's lovely cat Rusty was found dead on Thursday night. I wasn't there at the time, poor Kelly was the one who found her though. Very sad news, I really liked Rusty even though she used to try and eat Oscar.

RIP Rusty.

Friday night Sarah dropped me off at the Scooter place to pick up her Scooter (going great after a spark plug replacement) and drove down to get a few presents to help cheer up Kelly. On the way back though Sarah was hit from behind by a totally STUPID moron driver. He was rubber-necking at the accident on the side of the road and drove into the MR2! here's the picture! Poor MR2!

Otherwise though everything is good, I went to the SPCA today and had a lovely but tiring day...

New Things!

Submitted by TiM on

Yesterday was a VERY exciting day! First of all I bought myself a new mobile phone, which I guess to 99.9% of the population isn't very exciting. I got myself a P910i which is a mobile phone and a PDA thingy. Basically it's like a miniature laptop with a mobile phone built in. Crazy. Sarah likes to make fun of it because it's lot a little pen you tap the screen with. But she was also the one playing with it for an hour last night...

And the other bit of exciting news you'll have to login to read, because I can't post it for the public to read just yet!

In other news today, we tried to get Sarah's scooter up to the local Motorcycle shop this morning to get the back tyre changed. It was a failed mission though as the bike wouldn't even start, so we both...

A Story By Sarah

Submitted by Sarah on

Hi everyone in Tim-land.

Nothing much exciting going on lately - apart from the scooter buying. Had a good weekend of general relaxation really. Apart from Girls Day Out.

Tim: Was it that bad?

Sarah: You'll find out in the story!

On the weekend I went girls day out with flatmate Kelly and her friend Lou from Massey. Tim said he would rather (insert masochistic punishment here) than go to girls day out. After having been, I would have to say someone will need to be paying me to go next year.

Girls Day Out is a thinly veiled market research event, with a few free samples. It was quite crowded and pushy, especially around the free stuff. It was something different to do on a Saturday though. Best free things: an octopus shower hook and some jatz crackers. The Chilli Choc Tim Tams and wine sampling was also really...

Action-a-plenty today, Sarah bought herself a new scooter! Well not really new as in shiny and new, but new as in she didn't have one before and now she does. It's only a little 50cc one so you don't need anything more than a car license to drive it.

We managed to drive it all the way back from Bontany Downs to Mt Eden! Usually you'd just get on the motorway, but seeing as scooties aren't allowed on the motorway that wasn't an option. 40 minutes and a bunch of back roads later we made it home. It's a really nice scootie too, accelerates at a rapid pace then tops out at about 50kmh.

I'm here in the Queen St basement, I am sitting around while guys in Hong Kong upgrades their routers here in Auckland. I don't have to do anything unless stuff goes wrong, so far the first...

Days Off!

Submitted by TiM on

Hi People! I've got Thursday and Friday off and I'm very happy about that fact! Sarah's also got Friday off so we'll go to the beach or something nice like that I think.

Gary (old flatmate) is going to come over tonight, we're going to play playstation (his) and drink a couple of lagers! I fixed Paul's Nokia the other day with my magical phone tools so he bought me a 6 pack of Cascade Premium. It ain't quite Boags but it's the next best thing!

Hello to Hannah, Auntie Liz and Nan Harman who were all reading yesterday, thankyou for your email!

Not sure what I'm going to do with my couple of days off, probably change the oil in my car tomorrow, give the chillies a bit of attention (they're going mental but need a bit of a soil topup) and bludge in the sun!

Nothing more to...
