Patient Update

Submitted by TiM on

Sarah got out of theatre yesterday about 1:45pm. It took ages, I was starting to get a bit worried. But the operation was quick and easy, she was just in the recovery room for a bit longer than expected.
She's feeling much better today, a bunch of people came to visit her last night so she's got flowers and things to read, her mum came up this morning and is with her now.
Hopefully she'll be allowed back home tonight!

Sarah's In Hospital!

Submitted by TiM on

After getting up at midnight last night and telling me she was feeling much worse, I rushed her to the hospital who checked her in straight away then made her wait four hours before the Dr saw her. I wondered why they had signs up saying "If you threaten our staff you will be prosecuted", I remember thinking why would I threaten them? Four hours later and I knew exactly why that sign was there.

She's been diagnosed with appendicitius and she's being operated on at the moment, I've just got back from the hospital to pack a few things for her so I can be there when she comes out of theatre.
Be sure to send get well TXT messages to her, or to me if you don't know her number and I'll pass them on!

Cold!

Submitted by TiM on

It's got so cold here all of a sudden, like the world suddenly decided it was going to knock 10 degrees from Auckland all of a sudden. We've slept with the heater on the last couple of nights it's THAT cold. We've never had to sleep with the heater on here before.

As you can probably guess, we didn't go much else with our long weekend. I helped Sarah look at a bunch more houses, we did a bit more shopping and I played some more playstation.

Sarah and I went for a walk up to the supermarket yesterday to take back some videos and to get a bit of fresh air (not that we were breathing stale air), while there I was looking at the board where people advertise cheap and nasty stuff. There was a decent sounding car for sale for $500 but the number in the ad...

Long Weekend!

Submitted by TiM on

Hello people, welcome to another fun packed diary!

It's the long weekend and that make me very happy. I'd forgotten all about it, I've been so flat out at work working on this one damn fault. I've had the brightest minds working on it with me and we're still not quite sure exactly what the problem is. Working on that, plus 3 nights in a basement working on a faulty switch have really taken it out of me.

It was nice to sleep in this morning, even Oscar was very quiet until we took his cover off (he usually starts to kick in with the chirping about 8:30 or so, even with his cover on), I got up and made Sarah and I bagels with cream cheese. All my life I have thought that I hate bagels, but the other weekend Sarah made me try one and I have realised...

I know I should

write something, but I've really got nothing to write. Work is fun and enjoyable as always, I swapped a card in a switch last night but now I have to go and swap the whole switch tonight as it's still faulty. JOY!

At least I got to take Sarah's Scooter for a blast, it's so much fun. I really need to get myself a bike license. The only problem is I forget I'm actually still a "piece of traffic", I happily rode through a red light last night totally forgetting that I was ment to stop. Well, I did realise JUST before I went through it and would have managed to get out of the way of any trucks... But it's not the kind of thing I'm likely to do in my car.

Speaking of my car, the dent still isn't fixed yet. It's been in for a quote and...

Moving Out For About The Sixth Time!

Submitted by TiM on

I think this is about the sixth or seventh time I've moved since I got to New Zealand. I'm certainly sick to death of it, though this time isn't that hard because most of my stuff was already in storage. I'm just moving more there.

Checkout this cool present Sarah bought me yesterday. It looks JUST like Oscar, it's scary.

V8 Supercars yesterday was pretty cool, though it was only the warm up stuff. They were SO loud, especially loud because our little corporate bungalo amplified the noise about 5 times.

It was nice in the corporate box, everything was free and availble in large quantities. Well, apart from lunch which they totally cocked up. In the end I managed to poke down about 12 chicken skewers and lots of other good stuff. A few cold VBs and a walk around the place and I was ready for a big...

I Passed!

Submitted by TiM on

I got 95% all up. I would have got 100% except for one really silly little mistake that I made, not a critical one at all but one of those things they put in to mark you down on if you miss it. Bugger!
It was pretty nerve wrecking for the first 30 minutes, my laptop was doing weird things and I was getting very mad at it. Once I bet it into submission though everything was fine. 4 hours later and I passed it! Woohoo!

Hi Hi

I lost my mobile phone on Friday night! Not my good one, but the crappy one I have for going out with. I'm not gutted I lost it, I'll just get another crappy one, but it's a pain as I don't have a working mobile phone without a SIM Card. I'll get a replacement tomorrow.

Busy week it was, mostly just doing the training course. Thursday night Sarah and I went out with an old workmate friend of mine for a chat and catchup. We had a lovely dinner and a really good night!

Friday night I went out with my workmates to Wildfire! Another great night too, lots of fun, food and beers were consumed. I lost my phone too as already mentioned. I put it on the table for a while, was talking to my workmates, went to the toilet and then when I got back realised I...

Training Away

Submitted by TiM on

Hi people, finally a minute to myself to update my silly ol' diary!

Yesterday I had to walk into Auckland City because all the buses were on strike (actually the drivers were, the buses were more than happy), they want better pay and better conditions. It was a lovely morning for a walk into work so I didn't mind.

Training training all day yesterday, not really very exciting to talk about even though though it's quite an interesting course (at least for me)

That night we went out for dinner with Sarah's dad and one of his customers/associates, a nice guy called David who had interesting views on religio! The same sort of views as me mostly!

Today was more training, even though I was a bit late as I had to drop my car in to get a warrent of fitness, I realised last night that mine had expired...
