The Plan, Stan

Submitted by TiM on

It seems there's a good chance I will miss out going to RBF because I might be heading direct from Amsterdam to Saudi. This is, as before, still a "maybe" but it's certainly a possability given the Saudi timeframe. I was of the understanding that it wouldn't be until early next year but it seems that time's been revised quite a lot!

So yea, I'm quite excited about it all, though I will be sad if I miss out on seeing Reel Big Fish. Compared though I'm happy to miss Reel Big Fish, someone will just have to take my DVD along and get it signed for me!!

Yesterday was a fun day too... The work I've been doing for a client has been going quite well though we've hit a few bugs with the software we're working with.

Anyway I got to their premises yesterday morning to reboot a...

Amsterdam

Submitted by TiM on

So! There's been lots of talk about it but now it's offical!

I'm off to Amsterdam!!!

Sun 18 September 14:10 Depart: AUCKLAND
Mon 19 September 07:15 Arrive: AMSTERDAM-SCHIPHOL
Tue 27 September 10:25 Arrive: AUCKLAND

Woohoo!!

Of course, it's for a training course so it's not going to be all fun and screaming, but I'm sure a bit of it will be! That's NEXT Sunday!

In other news, had a good weekend. On Friday Sarah's sister Holly came up, Sarah picked her new car up too. It's a perfect car, got everything she wanted.

Saturday Sarah took Holly to the airport to wave her off, she's heading over to England.

Today I washed a bunch of clothes and cleaned out Oscar's cage, apart from that we didn't do much.

I hope Aussie wins the ashes, I've got $50 riding on it which I think I'm about to have to kiss...

A Better Update Than The Last One!

With the prices of petrol ever increasing, Sarah has bought this beastie [edit: Link removed because it's expired]. We went down to look at it at lunchtime and it's in great condition, the only flaw is a ding on the front bumper. Nothing to worry about though! Plus she got it for a steal, the insurance guy on the phone couldn't believe how cheap she'd bought it for!

At least now when we decide to travel somewhere we don't have to the smallest amount, then still spent 45 minutes reorganising it so it fits in the boot of the MR2. In the MR2's defense though, it would eat the Legnum for lunch!

I'm having a major tidy of my apartment at the moment. Thus of course why I'm taking time out to write a long story, anything to put off the job at hand. Since moving in I've never really...

Workin' Week

Submitted by TiM on

Not much to report the last couple of days. I've already finished all my work that I had lined up with our customers this week. Went rather quicker than I thought it would, but it turned out not to be that complex after all.

Last night I met up with Peter (my old boss) for a couple of quiet drinks at the Crown Plaza. Good to see him again, still seems to be enjoying life at TelstraClear which is good.

Time to run off because I've got to meet Sarah to look at a car she wants to buy.

Not A Lazy Sunday!

Submitted by TiM on

Went over to Sarah's this morning (after feeling a bit crappy from all the screaming and yelling last night) and we went up to the Pet Store to get Oscar new toys. He's pretty bored with the ones he has and all the online bird people say you should give them new toys to kept them entertained during the day etc. So $50 later and hopefully Oscar won't be too bored.

After the Oscar toys we drove down to Mission Bay to get some food and so Sarah can take some more photos. She's finished her old photography class but is now doing a darkroom course (cool!) As part of it they gave her a black and white film and said "Go take cool photos!" She had to make them interesting too because they'll be the photos she works with for the next 4 weeks of the course. It'd get...

Elemeno P

Far out!!

I've just got back from the Elemeno P gig. It was AMAZING! They played in a really small space so you could almost touch the lead singer most of the time. They played a bunch of their old songs and quite a few of their new songs (which were all really good)
After the gig was over we (Gary and I) walked back to my flat, I grabbed my Elemeno P CD and took it back to the bar (about 50 metres from where I live, I love living on K-Road) and got the lead singer and the drummer to sign it. They both had a good chat to me as well which I'm really stoaked about, I got to talk to famous people!!!!!!

That's all, wooohooo!!!

I Am The Ticket Master!

Submitted by TiM on

So we've got tickets for:

Elemeno P (Tomorrow night, great NZ band!)

Reel Big Fish (Woohoo!!!!)

Foo Fighters (Coming in November)

It's going to be a good couple of months!

Cooked Guiness Stew last night. We haven't actually eaten it yet because it took ages to boil and reduce away, so by about 9pm we thought "Todger This! Let's eat out"

It looks and tastes really good now though, it's been in the fridge all night, I'm getting excited already just thinking about lunch!

It's been a fantastically short week, thanks to our most excellent holiday. I'm sitting here having a nice coffee, Oscar Doo's in his little travelling cage sitting in the sun chirping and eating pear (he loves pear)

Kelly's birthday party is tonight, that should be fun. Tomorrow I've got SPCA in the afternoon and then as I've already mentioned we're going to ELEMENO P! These guys...

Coromandel Holiday!

Submitted by TiM on

What a great time we had in the Coromandel! It's such a lovely place and it was beautiful weather the whole time we were there!

Saturday after a lot of running around (We'd forgotten to organise someone to look after Oscar - Thanks Bonita!) we finally hit the road. It took us about 3 and a half hours to get to where we were staying. Sarah's parents and sister had already arrived and settled in by the time we got there.

Warning: Big read ahead!

After a catch up and a chat we all headed off down to the local pub (called Smitty's) for a couple of brews, some dinner and to watch the All Blacks vs. the Springboks. Normally rugby bores me to tears and it did for the first half of the match. The second half was really good though, very close and the AB's finally won...

Woohoo!!!

Reel Big Fish are in Auckland again on the 28th of September!
I'll just have got back from my training course in Amsterdam (Oh, did I mention I'm going there for a training course? Well I am, lucky me!)
I can't wait for the Fish! Their last show was excellent. This time around it will hopefully be even better! Only 30 days and they're here!

Bad Luck Dylan

Submitted by TiM on

I met up last night with my old workmates. Matt who now works at Vodafone and Peter and Dylan. Last night was the TUANZ awards and Dylan was up for Network Support Person of the Year 2005. Sadly though some damn teacher from a girls school won it! What a load!
We had a great night though, we met up at one pub which pretty much closed on us straight away, went to a few more and ended up at the casio. When I got home at about 3am Peter had won a couple of dollars on the BlackJack tables.

Today we organised the third meeting in a row with a certain company and they AGAIN didn't call when they said they would! FRUSTRATING!

Chirpus is good, chirping a lot.
