The Slackness

Submitted by TiM on

Hello and Merry Christmas. This is yet another Christmas theme that I liked and thought I'd use. Very soon I'll be moving to my new webpage software though and all these fancy themes will be a thing of the past. Well, unless I sit down and try and make them work with the new software. But given my ability to do these sorts of things, we're more likely to see snow this Christmas than we are to see me doing that.

Weekend wasn't too bad. Party at Sarah's was good, mostly I sat out on the deck with some people and chatted the night away, drinking Corona and getting bitten by fecking mozzies.

Saturday we cleaned up the house then went down to Mission Bay for some breakfast. Saturday night we went to the TelstraClear lights which were pretty cool in a tacky kind of way. Very old laser light...

It's So Hot!

Submitted by TiM on

Well it's not so much hot as it is muggy as hell. My apartment is so blerg to be in, because the sun's streaming in and the windows only open about 8 cm. Not really enough to let much hot air out, though having the fan on does help.

I sent out Christmas cards today. This is the first time in many years that I've actually done this properly. I thought I was being really nice and was quite proud of myself until Sarah said to me "That's quite a mature thing to do now, isn't it?" I went from being quite pleased with myself to thinking "Oh shit! I'm OLD!"

Sarah's party tonight! Everything is in readiness, the Vodka Jellies are made, the decorations are at 300% now (more lights have gone up since yeserdays posting) and as I've already mentioned, it's a nice hot day which means it...

Preparing To Party

I'm over at Sarah's house at the moment (Still no word on the house sale) and the place is in 200% Christmas mode. The girls have gone all out again with the Christmas decorations, they're everywhere! They're having a Christmas party tomorrow night which should be fun

Speaking of fun, the Juniper party last night was really good. Not really that many people there but I knew pretty much all of them which was good.

Ok well not a very big update but I thought I should write something.

Juniper Party

Submitted by TiM on

Going to the Juniper Christmas Party tonight. Should be fun, a bunch of old TelstraClear people will be there to catchup with. Plus I can bitch to Juniper about sending me to Saudi Arabia!

Nothing else interesting to tell you really, work has been going well I've been busy again this week with my customer and other work stuff. Oscar's been keeping my company whie I work by clucking very loudly and annoying me! Though I've figured out how to shut him up now, you just give him his hump toy for a while and a good 20 minute "session" with that seems to calm him right down. Stupid bird.

No word yet on Sarah's house either or when they'll have to move out. I think some people were going to look through it today, I wonder what they thought when the looked through and saw the price tag. The...

I did it

I am so happy at the moment. Tickets were going onsale at 9 and I got to the U2 line at 6am and thought "Yea, there's bugger all people here!" until I walked around the corner. Then my face dropped. Still there was only about 200 people in front of me so I thought "I'm bound to get those A-reserve tickets I want" Stood in the rain for 3 hours until they went on sale, the people around me bonded together and we went and got coffee for each other and sausages that The Rock (radio station) were putting on.

Come 9am and I thought I should also start on the phones... And holy fek I got through! I managed to get out my order of 4 A-Reserver tickets and my address and phone number _however_ after she'd taken my credit card details and was processing it THE PHONE WENT...

Hello From The U2 Line

Submitted by TiM on

Hello! It's 7am and I've been sitting on the concrete outside real groovey now for an hour. I have a numb arse.
I've been here since 6am because U2 tickets go on sale today. There's already about 250 people, I think I'm about number 150! That's all, phone update out!

Poor Kiwi's

It wasn't even a fair match really. When it was 5 out for 20 runs we knew it was going to be a walk over. Thankfully the crowd was so bored and annoyed with their teams (lack of) progress that they sent on about 5-6 pitch invaders. They were very funny and watching them get taken down with some flying tackles was great entertainment. I don't think they should be fined, they should be paid money for keeping us entertained!

Overall though we had a good day. I sat in the sun for 6 hours, had a couple of beers, got quite a lot of stuff thrown at me (though not nearly as much as last time) and had a pretty enjoyable day really. It's just a shame the match was such a walkover, I would really have loved to have seen a good well fought victory instead of the...

Grumble

Got woken up early this morning by a customer, their network was done so I had to go and fix that. It was nothing wrong with my configuration work from a few weeks ago, just a major hardware failure in one of their devices. So I've been out there for the morning having a stress out and getting everything back working for them. I'll have to go in again tonight to do some other changes. It's like I've never changed jobs!

Sarah's Landlord came past last night and told the girls how much the house was on the market for. Wow. If I'd have been holding a beer I would have dropped it! I mean, good luck to her she's in a tight situation but I really don't think it'll sell for the asking price which is over half a million dollars. I hope if it does sell we get...

Here's a photo I took today of Oscar drying himself after throwing himself in the kitchen sink.

Sunday was a werid day! We got up late after the Foo's concert and decided to go down to Mission Bay for some breakfast/lunch (I will not use that stupid word)

So it was such a lovely hot sunny day that we lathered on sunscreen and just as we were walking out the door it started to pour with huge drops of rain. Scrub that idea! So we went instead to West Auckland and did a bit of shopping in the relative safety of the mall.

That night we went out for dinner with Sarah's dad, we tried to take him to this excellent little place we know called Tanuki's Cave but it was totally packed out, so we took him next door to a Japanese place that's similar. We had a lovely...

The Foo Fighters!

Submitted by TiM on

We just got back from the Foo Fighters concert which was excellent! It was really hard to see the band, but that's my only real complaint. They played lots of songs tht everyone knew off all their albums and played for an hour and a half. We were worried it was going to be wet and raining but on the way to the concert we realised that it wasn't an ourdoors concert like we'd thought.

Had a good night last night, my mate Gary came over and we hired a bunch of games for the PS2, almost all of whiched turned out to be total crap. I also had the movie "Shaun of the dead" which we watched and I loved, a very funny pisstake of a Zombie movie.

This morning Sarah and I were going to go to the Grey Lynn festival but because it had been pissing with...
