She's Back

Submitted by TiM on

Sarah's back from the hospital. She rang me at about 10am to let me know that the Dr had said she was allowed to leave. I went to pick her up about 11am but they didn't get the paper work done until about 3pm. I couldn't believe how long it took, but the staff are obviously overworked. Plus the whole hospital just seems to be full of old people that are not only pissed off to be there, but seem to take delight in annoying the staff.

The story of the miners is on TV tonight. New Zealand can't have afforded the deluxe two hour interview so we get the condensed one hour version instead. Sarah was making jokes about it before, this will be the "no poo" version.

Last Few Days

Submitted by TiM on

Hello!
Poor Sarah has been sick the last few days with the flu, this early morning she was having lots of trouble breathing so I took her into the hospital. This has happened a few times before and usually they feed her some magical gas stuff and she's fine after a couple of hours but not this time. I've just got back from the hospital, she's staying overnight so they can keep an eye on her. She'll be fine though, it's just the cold she's got combined with her Asthma that's causing all the trouble.
I've just waved goodbye to a visitor we had from overseas, Angela. Sarah signed us up for one of those "You crash at our place oneday, we'll crash at your place oneday" sites and thus Monday morning Angela arrived on our doorstep. Not unannoced or anything, we knew she was coming. She's from Pasadina, USA...

Clothes Shopping Action

Submitted by TiM on

We've done a bit more investigating and Prophecy is fairly sure that this week I will be starting work on a contract. I hope so, because we went out today and got some new shirts and even some trendy-arse shoes. I'm not going to remember who I am when I put all my cool new kit on. I won't so much be looking smart, more like a Calvin Klein model. C'mon, you know it's true.
What better after a big bout of shopping that a large hunk of dead meat? My thoughts exactly, we went to a cafe and they had a steak sandwich and boy, was it good! Two huge hunks of cow on some bread or something.

Then we came home and had a massive tidy up, the house is now uber shiny.

Pigpog is doing well, up to 250 grams today. It's given up on eating its...

Chicken Livers

Submitted by TiM on

We had chicken livers for tea last night. A while ago Sarah bought some chicken livers and I remember looking at her and saying "You can have those one night while I'm out!" I wasn't out last night, but we decided to give them a go anyway. Sarah cooked them up in what must be said was a lovely brandy/sherry sauce and we sat down to eat them. I was sure I wasn't going to enjoy them, having remembered putting a huge pile of them on my plate when I was in Saudi Arabia, thinking they were very tender looking bits of meat.

I poked my first one down. Mmmmm. Cough. Sarah was eating hers too was I wasn't about to give up just yet. That is until Sarah declared that she really couldn't eat them! Woohoo! I agreed and we decided to give outselves full points for trying something...

So Cold!

Submitted by TiM on

It's so amazingly cold in our house now, Winter is certainly here. Because the house is so old and there's so many gaps where the air can get in, getting out of bed in the morning is now a monumental challenge.

Here's something to freak out about.

My toes are cold.

Almost Better

Submitted by TiM on

Hello, I'm back. I've been in bed with deathitus for the last 3 days. It wasn't the flu, just some nasty virus I think. Today's the first day I've actually felt like getting out of bed though my appetite still isn't back.
So not a real lot has been happening as Sarah mentioned in her last post.
I got out of my death bed today and Sarah and I went shopping on the North Shore. I'm about to get into bed again now and try and get a decent night's sleep. I'll be back to 100% health just in time for work tomorrow!

Is it wrong?

Submitted by Sarah on

Hi everyone,

Tim is sick in bed today, he's got a virus. I reckon everyone should text him a get well message! I think he's caught the flu off Oscar.

Not much happening at the moment really. We had visitors again for the weekend (my cousin + her friend + another random traveller friend of my other cousin). They've all flown away now, so we've got the place to ourselves again. Just us and the chicken and the hedgehog.

Hedgehog is up and over the 200g mark now - I think he was around 220g which is halfway to freedom (my freedom, that is). Tim's truly turning weird looking after all his animal friends. With all their bizarre dietry requirements.
I'll give you a rundown:

Oscar: Seeds for 30 mins in morning, pellets only all day (including torture period in small cage with no perches and only a bowl of...

Zoo

We went to the Zoo today, have a look at our pictures here. Click on each image for a bit of a blurb about it. We had a really great time, I didn't think it'd be as interesting as it was. Much more interesting than the Zoo we have going here at the moment!

Yeeha!

I passed my Netscreen exam! I now have 4 industry certifications which is good, I hope to get more! I got 90% in my exam too, my highest pass yet on a Juniper exam.
We're going to see Bernard Fanning play solo tonight, I'm looking forward to it. I can't say I've really listed to his new album much, so I'm probably going to stand there most of the time going "Hmmmmm"

Exams

I have an exam tomorrow, for my Netscreen Firewall Certification. I hope I pass, I'll have 4 industry certificates if I do. Then I can do the next level up of a couple of them and be a certified brainiac.

Oscar is doing really well, he's back to his normal self it seem. The conversion from seed to pellets isn't going as well as I'd hoped, he likes to ignore his pellets and just eat the seed. He doesn't seem to mind taking his medicine though. The antibiotics are bright pink, after feeding them to him he looks like he's been putting on lipstick.

Speaking of lipstick the South Park episode dealing with Scientology was on last night, very very funny. Tom Cruise wouldn't come of the closet was the main joke but it pretty funny. There was also some werid guy with a gun in it we didn't...
