Freezing Cold

Submitted by TiM on

It's freezing cold here this morning. There was ice in the park on the way to work and I only saw one slow moving squirrel instead of the usual plague of them. The problems with the office heating continues, my workmate Irfan measured the temperature as 14degrees at his desk this morning. Workplace health and safety says it shouldn't be that cold unless we're all performing hard manual labour. This job can be hard and stressful sometimes, but hard labour it's not.

Last Wednesday at Karate I got some badges to sew onto my Gi. They're the same badges everyone else has, I just hadn't been given them yet. Friday night came and I realised that I hadn't sewn them on yet, so I sat down thinking "This'll take me 10 minutes" and started sewing. I'm terrible, the first attempt went bad, the first badge was too low. So I...

I Can't Win!

Submitted by TiM on

It's a lovely sunny day today, so I went to take a few photos on my walk to work. Denied! No batteries left. I'm a muppet. Never fear, Sarah added a few new photos this week to look at. I especially love this sign we spotted a couple of weeks back on our bike ride.

Stupid Weather

Submitted by TiM on

I brought our little camera to work today to take some photos as I walked through the park to work. But the sun wasn't out, it was grey and overcast. If I'd taken photos today it would have looked miserable and boring. Oh well, it's in my bag now, maybe tomorrow.

Walk In The Park

Well, it's offical. My love affair with the Tube is over. This morning I was in such a daze I only realised with 1/2 a second to go we were at my stop! I got off just before the doors closed. I'm glad I did, it would have been very embarassing to have ridden all the way to the next stop with everyone silently laughing at me! I must remember to pay a little bit more attention instead of playing Yahtzee on my phone.

When we met up with Andy and Maggie a few weeks ago for a drink, Andy...

Another Weekend Gone

Submitted by TiM on

Another weekend is over and I'm sitting on the couch thinking about ironing my shirts, typing this up while also keeping an eye on the eggs boiling in the kitchen. Boiled eggs make a really good afternoon snack to keep you going until you get home.
Hopefully I have installed a theme that I actually will like long term. I keep installing new ones, liking them for 2 days then end up hating them. The photo in this one though is a photo that Sarah took on our Truck Trip. Camping overlooking the Dead Sea.

Didn't do too much with our weekend, it's been nice and relaxing. Apart from all the fireworks going off, it's fireworks night tomorrow night and all weekend the sky has been lit up with fireworks. It's not the sky lighting up that you notice though, it's the noise of them. You're obviously allowed to by...

Scarfie Time

Submitted by TiM on

It's so cold here every morning now. Not just now and then, but all the time. The office is freezing cold too most of the time, I'm not sure what's wrong with our new office but something is. Sarah bought me a £5 scarf yesterday, she went to buy one for herself but instead ended buying one for me and didn't even get one for herself! How nice is she?
I guess we better get used to the cold though, because at Christmas we're heading off to...

Switzerland! Grindelwald to be exact. We're staying there from the 22nd Dec through to the 29th, then heading off to Paris for New Years. I'm really looking forward to another white Christmas, the last was way back when I was in Toronto. I can't ski or snowboard, but hopefully by the end of our little holiday we'll be experts at it!
Paris should...

Mmmmm, A Real Flat White!

Submitted by TiM on

We had a real flat white yesterday. A proper, tasty, just-like-being-home flat white. It was a bit of a mission to get to the cafe, but it was worth it. We had to hop on the tube for 20 minutes, get a bit lost a Picadilly Circus, walk through the dodgy area (heaps of sex shops) and down a gloomy looking street. All the other shops on the street were closed, but Flat White itself was packed with people. The two coffee's they made us were just perfect, it's strange that something I used to have twice a day is now a rare luxury.

After our tasty coffee's we kept walking around the area we were in. Soho I think it's called. Lots of tourists (I have to keep reminding myself that I too am a tourist) but not overly packed like some of the other popular tourist destinations...

Lazy Updater

Submitted by TiM on

So as Sarah has noted in a previous comment, it's been a while since I've updated. The simple reason for this is because I am lazy, and the last week, also often fairly exhausted!
We're on day 12 of our diet now, the second day where we're allowed to reintroduce one thing into our diet and see how it affects us. Yesterday, I chose coffee. Who wouldn't?

Only problem being, after my first two coffee's (black with no sugar), my head felt like it had been stuffed full with cotton wool and I felt overall quite funny. Not ill, but just not normal. It wasn't what I was expecting! Where was my happy caffine buzz? Maybe I will just give up caffine all together, except for the odd bit of chocolate etc. I have been sleeping like a brick for the last week and finding it really easy to get...

Day 2

Submitted by TiM on

Day 2 of our Elimination Diet. Turns out I'm intolerent of being tolerent. Sometimes I want to just grab the coffee pot, the milk, the sugar and a mug and sit in the corner singing and drinking.

Having said that, I had the best sleep last night I've probably had in a year!
