Ahhhh Bugger

Submitted by TiM on

Hello from my Hammersmith Hospital bed.
I have a nasty old chest drain stuck in me, the same as I got last time when I was in New Zealand.
Thankfully though, it appears that it's already done it's job and it could be out as soon as tomorrow. They still have to do more Xrays and stuff, but it's looking promising.

I'm fine, nothing wrong with me, just a damn painful tube stuck in me. Could be worse though!

Back on Track!

Submitted by TiM on

Finally my diary is all caught up. I don't know why I got so slack there, but now I'm caught up I'm determined to try and update it at least once every 2nd day.

So here I am on Tuesday and my lung is still sore, though not as sore as it was on Saturday and Sunday. I spent all of Saturday and Sunday in bed, not really doing much apart from watching movies and sleeping. It was amazing how much I slept, I don't know if it was from exhaustion or my lung being stuffed or what. But I slept a lot like you do when you have the flu.

Yesterday I started to feel a bit better, though it was still aching a lot. I told people at work what was going on and they were all pretty snapped out about it. It's not every day this...

Revenge Of The Lung!

Submitted by TiM on

Hello! My stupid lung has collapsed again. I woke up yesterday morning with a sore head from beers after work Friday night and a sore chest from, well, a collapsed lung as it turns out. As soon as I got up and started walking around I thought "That doesn't feel right, in fact it feels a lot like last time"
So I rang the NHS Helpline, they were actually helpful and told me "You need to go to hospital, now"
So I packed up lots of stuff into my bag, laptop, PSP, books. I thought I'd be there for another week!
But I was only there a couple of hours, they did an X-Ray and while it's collapsed, it's only a small collapse and doesn't need a big-ol' hole-in-the-chest. At least, not yet! I'm back home now and taking it very, very easy! I have to go back for X-Rays...

Our Time In France - Part 2

Submitted by TiM on

Wow, part two, nearly 3 weeks after we're back? I'm slack.

Of course, it being so long since I've forgotten lots of the little bits and pieces, but I'll go over what I can remember.

The castle was really cool! Very big and majestic. It even had a pigeon compound, where they used to keep and feed a whole crapload of pigeons because pigeon crap apparently was a great fertiliser. There were still a few in there too, stinky little buggers.

After we'd had a good look around the castle and taken a few photos, we decided it was time to head back down and get some icecreams. In the car park at the icecream shop we saw Maggie and Andy's car, so we knew that they were somewhere in the castle area as well though we'd missed them. The icecreams were good!

Castled out, we decided we should head...

I am still alive

Submitted by TiM on

I'm still alive! I've been busy working, too hard I think. Though it seems it may not be hard enough! There's so much stuff to do.

I've just had dinner with Matt and Claire, friends of mine from NZ. I spoke to Sarah this afternoon for a while, she sounds like she's having a great time which is good.
I helped Matt to hack his PSP so it can play downloaded games and he showed me how to hack wireless networks. So it's win-win really.

I will do a proper update soon, I promise.

Our Time In France - Part 1

Submitted by TiM on

This whole entry was written while we were still in the villa in France. There's some errors, some weird bits, and no mention of the fact we're now engaged (woohoo!) because I wasn't sure when I'd post it here and I still hadn't told a few people. So here it is, fairly raw still. I'll post part two very soon, as well as the promised update about our engagement and other what's-been-happenings.

Started Sunday, 8th June:
So we're here in France! Last night was probably the worst flight that I've ever been on. It was full of French School Children, they were the loudest bunch of annoying kids you've ever had the misfortune of sitting near. If we'd behaved the way they behaved on the plane when I was at school, we'd all have been given a weeks detention for tarnishing the name of the school.
It was fucking terrible...

Comment Spam

Submitted by TiM on

I'm getting a lot of comment spam from spammers all of a sudden. No idea why, my site doesn't appear in Google or any other search engine, so there's no point for them to spam it.
Anyway, I have turned on comment moderation for the moment, so if you post a comment and you're not logged in, you'll have to wait until I approve it before it appears.

Stupid spammers!

Update: I have installed a spam filter now, so hopefully no more stupid spams to annoy me. You can one again post freely without logging in.

It's Offical, We're Engaged!

Submitted by TiM on

I think that most people know now, apologies if you don't, but we're now engaged! I asked Sarah and she was lovely and said Yes! We had a big dinner in France with everyone to celebrate as well, it was really fun.

Great news, I'm very happy.

I'll post a few more details in a private story later this week, as well as a proper update about our time in France.

In France

Submitted by TiM on

We're in France! We've been here since last Saturday, when Peter came and picked us up from the airport after a hellish flight full of French School Children.

Once we've back and I've finished editing my massive diary entry, I'll post it!

We're Back From Halifax

Submitted by TiM on

We're back from Halifax, having caught the train down from Leeds this afternoon. We had a really good weekend, very busy. Saturday we spent 5 hours at John's house, cleaning his backyard. A mammoth job. We went out for a curry last night, it was a long drive to the Curry House but boy, was it worth it!
Today we went down and took a few loads of rubbish to the tip, before heading home.

It's Sarah's last week at work this week! Her parents arrive tomorrow, we fly off to France for the week this Saturday. Lucky Sarah, last...
