Fitness Freaks!

Submitted by TiM on

Another weekend gone, but at least we used it well. Sarah took me to Karate on Saturday morning then we went and had breakfasty lunch at Roasted Addiction (edit 8/6/2020 it was called Roasted Addiqtion but isn't there anymore) in Kingsland. Where I had tea instead, that came in a very trendy little setup. It even came with a hourglass so you knew when your tea was brewed. I took Sarah's bike up to have the gears service Saturday afternoon, they were really rattling around when trying to change gears. I'm sure it wasn't that hard to fix, but when...

Friday Night Curry

I'm just walking back from a quick jog around the park. My knee had earlier in the week been giving me a lot of grief, so I took the "stuff you dumb knee" approach and have been exercising a lot. It quit bitching today, so I'm pleased with that.

I went to Karate last night, my first night and I was late. Thankfully I got then just before starting and they waited for me to get changed. Very kind! I can already tell it's going to be a great club. A few thing were a bit different I noticed, no one did pressups on their knuckles like I've been taught and no one kneeled down when the instructor was demonstrating. I'll have to ask about that. I'm going again tomorrow morning, Osu!

So I've just been for a jog, I've got a tasty bottle of beer and I'm just collecting...

New Icons

Submitted by TiM on

I might install some new icons on my website in the next couple of days. The old ones, funky as they are, have been around since 2000 when I started this site. Get excited. Actually it just an attempt to stop you all visiting Sarah's much more interesting site. NEW ICONS!!!

In other news, Karate tonight! I have my Gi sitting here next to me in a plastic bag all ironed and ready to go. My stupid hurtie knee is getting better as well. It sucks being old.

I went up to the shop last night to get some chips...

Running for the bus

Submitted by TiM on

I hate it when I see the bus scoot past the end of the street 10 seconds after I walk out the door. I sprinted fast as my legs would take me this morning and just managed to make it. Great start to the week.
I went for my first run in about a month last night, I'm sure that must have helped me out a bit this morning. That plus the weetbix. My knee was really hurting last night while running. I bet it's gout.

I hope by now you've noticed that sarahchats.com has had a major facelift and...

Real Life Calling

We're back from our lovely little jaunt up to Paihia for our honeymoon. Paihia was about as awesome as could be expected, that is, pretty awesome. It was sunny every day except when we were driving home on Sunday.

During the week we went to go swimming with Dolphins, but the Dolphins were pretty pissed off when we went so Sarah didn't actually get to swim with them. I was smart and stayed on the boat the whole time, I don't trust Dolphins. They eat you.

Our hotel was pretty uber, lots of space, a big TV and a balcony which looked out over the beach. Plus a spa and 5 pools and blah blah awesome.

We ate food, lots and lots of food. Our package gave us breakfast every morning and the restaurant was amazing. We also got a 4 course and a 5 course tasting menu, both of...

I hear a rumour too that sarahchats.com might be getting updated in the near future. It's just a rumour at the moment folks, so don't get too excited. But maybe check back in a few days and see if it could have updated!

I'm Married!

Submitted by TiM on

Hello as my first post as Mr Harman, husband of Mrs Harman! We're in Paihia at the moment on our honeymoon, enjoying the sun and the sand and just generally relaxing after two weeks of intense running around and getting-things-sorted. It was all worth it though, after the best wedding I've ever been to! I'm writing this up while having a nice Boags Premium, enjoying the sun while Mrs Harman is down in the Spa having treatments!

In case you haven't seen them yet, our official wedding photographer Nick Clarke has put up a few select photos on his blog, please go and check them out!

Sarah flew down on the 28th of Feb, actually that was my last update to my poor neglected diary. I worked Monday and Tuesday and then drove down on Wednesday morning after picking up a few last minute things from around the place...

Sunday

What a busy day! Took Sarah to the airport first thing. We arrived early to make sure they would allow the wedding dress on. Sarah'd rung up the day before and gone through the whole "bring it out early, we'll check it ra ra ra" event. We got there, the guy rolled his eyes and said "take it on, it'll be fine" or similar. Thanks AirNZ for making us arrive 30 minutes earlier. Oh well. Sarah got away OK, after the first plane had a "Check Engine" light come on so they had to get on another plane.

I drove back, chilled for an hour and then went to meet Andrew, his wife Erika and Marshall their little boy. We had a great time walking around Auckland Viaduct laughing in the face on the Tsunami that never arrived. We had breakfast and then walked around a bit longer, I bid...

Ouch

I had a cyst cut out of my back yesterday. I thought it would be a small little cut and it'd be gone. Oh no. They took out a massive chunk of flesh, this huge big bit. It was disgusting. It's got like 6 stitches in there and a huge bandage. Serves me right of course for not asking more questions on the initial consult. On the positive side, my second head (haha Tasmanian joke) has been permanently removed.
